Art lovers can pop by the AGO on Wednesday evenings to admire the gallery’s permanent collections for free (special exhibitions are an extra charge). The beautiful Frank Gehry-designed museum reveals numerous galleries adorned with classic and contemporary artworks from Canadian and international artists. Landscape paintings from Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven are particularly popular. Be sure to spend some time exploring the Galleria Italia, a light-filled sculpture promenade across the front of the gallery enclosed in wood and glass.
