“I see us as a sort of external human resources department for our clients,” says David Gangbazo, owner of Divine & Diamond. “We can fulfill their temporary or permanent staffing needs, as well as offering them semi-permanent staffing solutions. This way, they don’t have to deal with the paperwork, payroll and HR management headaches.” David’s company offers kitchen and service staff to all types of clients, from caterers to event and wedding planners, alongside corporations, individuals, hotels and reception halls. “We are not a catering service — we only work on the human resource aspect,” David clarifies, then adds, “We do service a lot of caterers, however.”
Divine & Diamond provides its clients with “custom-built” teams based on their specific needs. “I often say there are two types of clients; those who want brains, and those who want brawn,” David explains. “On the brain side, they want autonomous teams that are able to quickly react and make the best decisions based on context, as is often the case with wedding planners. On the brawn side, they want teams that are able to follow a chef or planner’s instructions to the letter. We take all of this into consideration when assembling our teams; the client’s needs are the foundation of all of our efforts.”
