In spite of really good smoke meat and good fries, there is very little value for money and shitty customer service. However the worse is their cockamamie service system. No reservations, long line ups and no wait staff to take orders - disorganized floor plan. Get back in line if you want more food or drink. People trying to find their own table. What a nightmare. The band was good but the lead singer seemed to be under the influence.
If you don't know about Pete's its only because you are new to the area, Petes food is always fresh and incredible. Best smoked meat in town sounds too repetitive but... :-)
Sometimes a bit too loud so if you are more into the quite dining go in the afternoon.
Although technically not on the Island of Montreal, Smoked Meat Pete is consistently ranked among the best when it comes to their smoked meat. They are located just off the island, on Île-Perrot, and offer a variety of dishes made with their succulent smoked meat such as a smoked meat spaghetti dish and the classic smoked meat on rye bread.
Longtime Montreal restaurateur Dave McMillan knows the city's food scene like few others. We asked him for his top lunch picks and he came back with this great list that will have you covered the next time a friend or colleague asks, "Where should we go for lunch?"
