Best sushi I ever had!

I visited this Yummyaki restaurant several times and they always provide best service and best food. I tried both regular menu and all u can eat and they both were really good. However, it is hard to read a menu since letters are too small. Everything was fantastic except the menu. I would recommend checking this place out.

Deserves to have yummy in its title

I'm always going out to restaurants with friends, colleagues and family, and Yummyaki is absolutely delicious compared to the many places I have dined in within the region. I'm always taking out from Yummyaki, or dining in when I have the time, simply because I can't keep myself away from the food. Visit, and enough is said. Service is also great... fast and friendly, my preference when it comes to good service. But, what I admire most about the restaurant is its integrity. They don't serve inadequate food for a small price but instead, serve real quality food for a very reasonable price. I've even splurged the last time I went and ordered sashimi for an extra six dollars, and well, I was sold. The fish is abundant, fresh and it's clear why they charge extra for the sashimi. I go out to restaurants to eat good food. If I wanted to be frugal, I stay home. Plus, they're always innovating the place with more great services and more great dishes. The place is always bustling with people at lunch and weekends, and for good reason.

LOVE SPICY SALMON

Always a pleasure to dine in at yummyaki. I love love love sushi, and it is the place to be at. The service is sweel, very friendly staff. The food comes out very quick when it's not rush hour. TRY THE MISO SOUP - the best in Kitchener/Waterloo - also the spicy salon :) WILL BE BACK FOR MORE SUSHI

First of all, the food was not very fresh there (ex: the salmon had a weird taste to it). There were very limited choice in the all you can eat menu, yoespecially for the price u had to pay (you had to pay extra for drinks, sashimi, and only one scoop of ice cream was allowed per person, which were very odd in an all you can eat place). Beware of the msg there, you get really thirsty after eating there. I definitely would not go back again.

Yummyakis sushi is deffinitly the best in the area. Being from Vancouver, and coming here being able to find a sushi resturant that is even werth sitting in is a treat. The staff was imformative and funny, and the owner Derrick makes you feel like family. I also love how they have a few korean dishes on the all u can eat menu. Bolgoree is amazing. I love how there rolls are smaller which is more traditional...because theres nothing werse then getting a roll thats bigger then you are and it falling apart all over you. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell are made with passion for good japanese food. And it never hurts to support the independent and family run places.

Every two weeks a co-worker and I go to Yummyaki's for lunch. We either go before noon or after 1pm to avoid the rush which is a good tip for those of you hoping to miss a crowd and get the service you crave. I think it's nice that if you buy 'a la carte' that you can pay right off the bat and not have to worry about it later. Which means when it gets busy you can up and leave to make room for others. And it does get quite busy, quite fast. I've ordered several things going there and have yet to be disappointed. The dumplings are by FAR my favourite along with the Chicken Katsu. The home-made ginger dressing for the salad and the sauce for the katsu are amazing! You also get a nice bang for your buck. For about $11 you get soup, salad, rice and a meat dish plus a small appetizer and everything is of a more than fair size. I always have to get a take-out container for the rest. The owner and his wife always treat us nicely, even when its busy and the employees are never shy about answering a question or concern I may have. Though they run around with their head cut off they still manage to keep up great food and great service. I'll keep going!

Went to Yumiyaki 3 times now First time with my GF service was good food was good overall good impression we had all you can eat. Came back a second time with some friends and just ordered food from the menu and was good. I came the third time with my parents having all you can eat. After about an hour or so of eating the waiter came over and started saying that they close at 9 this was around 8:30. And even tho we were still eating he said about charging for leftover food. This service is frankly unacceptable. Food is great service is not. I have recommended yumiyaki to lots of friends, but i am no longer recommending yumiyaki to anyone due to the service. ruins the whole experience

Good food, but interesting lunch

It's been a while since my last Yummyaki visit, but it was confusing as for lunches, you order at the counter and pay first (not the usual get menu, waiter take your order, pay after) Besides the confusion, bento lunch boxes were big, served with miso soup, salad, BBQ short rib, tempuras for $10.95 Would definitely visit again

Lots of great selection, friendly service & tasty sushi. We frequent Yummyaki, as it is the favourite restaurant of my 4year old. We love the Miso soup that comes with each dinner/sushi combo. We've had the All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, as well as ordering from the menu. Both options give you great value. We always attempt to try something different each time we dine at Yummyaki's. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

A great value - best "all you can eat" sushi in KW

While you can probably find better sushi in the most expensive sushi restaurants in Toronto, Yummyaki's food is first rate. They don't try to fill you up with rice by providing a sliver of fish and a huge rice roll. Dipping sauces are home-made and delicious. The owner is Korean and the menu includes a nice diversion of Korean treats as well. He works right along side his staff and closely monitors the quality of the food and the service level. He has an abundant number of staff and the service is fast and friendly even when it gets busy... and believe me, it can get really busy. Get there early on Friday nights! They close a bit early for my dining habits and closed on the rare day that they need off. A previous review noted that they do not provide Sashimi or ice cream. They have included salmon Sashimi (limited pieces) and ice cream with the all you can eat menu. Tuna Sashimi (my favorite) would be nice but not if it increased the price of the ayce menu as they offer it a la carte. I am a harsh critic so my numerical score may seem low but comparatively speaking, you can't go wrong with Yummyaki.

The food was horrible. You could tell the rolls weren’t made fresh and we received many dishes that were supposed to be served hot, but were served cold. My fiancé and I will never return again.

All you can eat is definitely the way to go. Not every item on the menu is my favorite, but any restaurant with such a variety of items has to have something you don't like. I've been to this restaurant many times, and I've always enjoyed my meal.

The people there were really friendly. The service there is amazing! Within 10 minutes of ordering, our food was served. We've been there twice and we've received the same fast service both times. There's no waiting around for your food. Our combos were pretty good. I got chicken teryaki and expected there to be vegetables with it like at other Japanaese restaurants, but it was just the chicken with brusselsprouts. It still tasted good. We were surprised that our combos came with extra food such as 1 extra dumpling each, 2 maki rolls each, and 2 slices of orange. It was a good surprise. The maki rolls are delicious! The dumplings are to die for...the best dumplings I've had. The salad was okay, the sauce wasn't blended well. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant with very good prices for what you get!

We went there twice during our 1 week vacation. Great great sushi!! Love it!! Very friendly service!! However, the restaurant closes very early around 9p.m. and you'd better remember what you order. They forgot to serve every food that we ordered twice during our 2 visits.

You can't expect authentic, quality sushi or Japanese cuisine in KW. So once you get that out of the way, they are not too bad. I wasn't impressed with how thin the fish was sliced. I could see right through the fish. The rice wasn't formed properly so it fell apart the moment you picked up the sushi. However, the price isn't too bad for combos. I've been there for AYCE and I find the price too high and I'm a little disappointed with the lack of sashimi and the added cost for tuna. However, yesterday we went at a busy time and the server was very apologetic for the slow service and even gave us our appetizer for free.
