Its a great place for Sushi in Toronto, maybe I am spoiled, Ive been to a lot of sushi restaurant in Canada, Vancouver has the best. But This place in TO is very good!
We have nothing else to say about this place other than AMAZING! I take clients here a lot and will continue to do so. The ambiance and food is just amazing.
Always fresh. That's what's most important. However, it's also very good. They have some unique & really excellent Maki rolls I love, East End Maki is my favorite! Menu is available online for take out, & it's decently quick. Service is friendly & on the ball. They remember their customers after 2 visit which shows they care. The decor is nice, not fancy but nice. It's a small place but they have a sushi bar & some private tables. The best sushi place I have found in the beaches.
Awesome place, must visit if you're in Toronto!
The one time we dined there we left in shock by how rudely we were treated. When we first came in they didn't seem too welcoming with the this-is-a-high-end-restaurant-you-don't-belong-here kind of attitude. Our conversation was then brutally interrupted over and over again by the waitress over most of the times nothing and she didn't once apologize. Apart from that, my other thoughts were 1) the location is great you can stroll along the beaches after dining. 2) The food was good but I didn't find it up to its reputation here. 3) Parking can be troublesome if you go there at peak time and you don't know the area well.
I'm telling you people in Toronto, YUMEI SUSHI is the best place for sushi. The price might be a little more than what you'd like to pay but it is well worth every penny as every other review has stated. The ONLY sushi place I enjoy going back to on a regular basis. Sat in one of them booth units during my last visit and it's more intimate, private. GREAT FOOD, NICE PRICE, EASY TO GET TO (501 Queen, 24H!!!) I usually order the chirashi, don buri or sashimi dinner. Have had the sea urchin a la carte and a few of their rolls Sampled the cold soba which is VERY nice in the summer months. AT LEAST VISIT ONCE but I bet you'll be back!!! ENJOY!!!
Honestly this is the best Japanese food in the East End....no doubt about it!
Great fresh fish, large quantities. Very clean, great atmosphere...
Great fresh sushi and sashimi with large quantities. A little on the pricy side, but worth every penny. Will not dine anywhere else.
I must say I wouldn't want to dine any where else because the food at Yumei Sushi is absolutely delicious!Once you eat there..you'll want to go there over and over again.Every holiday they decorate the place and it's beautiful.God bless that Yumei Sushi is really close to my house.

This College and Carleton spot isn’t your average sushi restaurant. If you’re craving the raw fish delicacy, then yes, have ‘atter (with extensive sushi and sashimi menus). But it also hosts a range of hot food items, from soba and udon noodle dishes and gourmet soups and appies. The kimchi pancake is a must-try, as is the truly killer bento box (which includes maki, nigiri, sashimi, teriyaki AND tempura). Add delivery and you’ve got your perfect go-to place for your sushi fix.

A compact but inspired interior creates the calm, casual vibes of Yumei, while sushi boats stocked with oh-so-fresh sashimi (including salmon belly), bibimbap, lunch combo specials, and both the standard rolls and unique maki creations attest to the solid reputation of this long-time spot.
