I have been to this restaurant twice in the past month and had very different experiences. The first round was very pleasent with the bartender serving us. The second time was less enjoyable. The waitress was rude, slow and very unprofessional. Even though the main theme of this restaurant is it's variety of beers, the waitress had the nerve to say "well a lager's a lager" when we were told Stella was no longer on tap. Unfortunately, this one bad experience may turn me off the restaurant entirely.
Overall the food is excellent. If you have room for dessert, go for it.
I have been here quite a lot in the last two years. It is my staple restaurant to go for four big reasons: Food is top-notch, Beer selection is impressive, service is great, and the ambience is very welcoming. St. Veronus has very knowledgeable waiters who can give you tasting notes on the different beers and food. If you haven't tried Belgian Ales (and Stella does not count...) I would strongly urge you to experiment away. Even if is not your cup of brew, the food will have you coming back again & again. I would recommend starting off with one of the appetizer sampler plates to get a good idea of how the food is prepared.
Beer was a little strong for my taste but went very well with the meal. Would try two others next time.
Fondue was outstanding- I loved the apple cinnamon spread with it. I would go back just for this.
I ordered the Salmon main and it was cooked to perfection and even though I am not a fan of couscous- it was very tasty.
My boyfriend had the short beef ribs and he loved them. Very tender and yummy.
It was a wonderful, very cozy dining experience and the waitress/service was wonderful.
