I had booked for my Birthday 2 years ago and when the time came to sit I and my guests were told we had to wait for a table to become available. We went somewhere else to celebrate.
Went to the Spoon & Fork for the second and last time last night. My boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant fairly early (5:00) and were planning on doing the all you can eat sushi thing, but were waiting for a friend. The waiter asked us if we wanted to order, we mentioned we would wait for our friend because of the 2 hour limit (stated on the menu) but he told us not to worry about that. We proceeded to order a couple of appetizers while we waited. An hour or so into our meal, the waiter told us in so many words our time was up. We had planned on ordering more, but weren't necessarily ready that second. He hovered over our table forcing us to place and order so he could get us out of there. Needless to say, the service was beyond rude. The food was pre-cooked and was lukewarm when it arrived to our table and it was full of MSG. For anyone who is MSG sensitive or simply don't want to poison your body with the excess of this additive, plain and simple stay away! Lastly, there are no prices for the all you can eat sushi on the menu; it came to about $30 each! Don't get suckered into this, go to a nice restaurant and order a nice meal with good service and quality food. Guaranteed you will not find this here.
Went to spoon and fork with a party of 11 people. When we first went in the waitress decides to do an act of kindness and bring out all sorts of appetizers for us to try (to fill us up). Little did we know, she also ordered our main meals. Not only did it come out at the same time as the appetizers but it also wasn't what we wanted. We sent it back and the waitress began to give attitude (we never ordered it to begin with). After we told her to stop bringing out appetizers, she still brought out the food... for everybody to share, especially the salads that everyone ordered individually. When the actual meal came in, she forgot most of the orders, and dropped random foods off to random places. When one of the party members came in late and waned to order, she not only refused to bring out some appetizers, she also brought out the wrong order. When the dinner was over, and everyone paid for their bills, not only did they take 15% gratitude, they didn't put the bills together properly. I came to pay at least 30$ for an all you can eat buffet, and left paying 45$. in total she took 55$ in tip EVEN THOUGH the service was brutal... I found it astonishing the lady knew who's bill was who's but didn't know who ordered what. The cash back wasn't even accurate! Aside from the terrible service, the food would deserve a 6/10. Overall this was the worst service i received in years, The staff was rude, impolite and the food was rushed. This was the first time I've ever came to the Spoon and Fork in Oakville and probably my last. Not impressed. If you want an amazing Spoon and Fork, go to the one in Etobicoke. You will be treated like a king!
Yuck is all I can say. This is by far the worst Thai food I have EVER had. The atmosphere is nice but the service is bad. If one person at your table orders the all you can eat then everyone else has to. We both ordered chicken curry and it was awful. It was runny, almost soup like and the chicken was rubbery. It wasn't even edible. I would never go back. Don't waste your money.
When we first walked into Spoon and Fork, we were impressed with the decor and the general atmosphere of the restaurant. As a party of 10, we were not allowed to be seated until all of our party members arrived, which I thought was unfair considering we had made reservations. Once we all arrived, we were seated and given menus for only half of our guests. By the time we saw the waitress again, it was about 15 minutes later, and we still weren't able to get menus for everyone at the table. When we ordered, we had to order only a little bit at a time, and it was brought to you. If you wanted more, you had to let the waitress know. But the waitress was no where to be found! The restaurant was so crowded and noisy it was impossible to even spot out our waitress. The food was good, and it was a good deal for all of the food that was given to you. I wouldn't go back only because of the service, I could go to another restaurant and get better service and the same meal for the same price.
Picture a really good Mandarin. AYCE with great taste and prices. Yes the service is slow but the place is clean and nice. The food is top notch for ayce. I dare you to find better Thai and Sushi for this price. Lunch is $15 and dinner is $25. Something for everyone and please try the deep fried cheesecake, so good. My fav place for the last year. This place is getting super busy now too. Well done Spoon and Fork
We went there in Feb for our annivesary and we picked the all u can eat menu. Service is definitely bad, they seem ignore you & not willing to take repeat orders. Environment is nice, food so-so but expensive. Service is way too low, will not go again.
Truly authentic or not, the sushi offered at this restaurant is *GREAT*. It's very freshly and cleanly prepared, full of flavor and presented in a very beautiful way! The Thai dishes are also very delicious and flavorful, not greasy or oily, and are great new thing to try! The service is friendly and fast, the interior of Spoon & Fork is very clean and sophisticated. I most definitely like this place and recommend!!
We have frequented this restaurant on a few occasions, with friends and as a couple. Make reservations is my first advise! Otherwise you can find yourself standing in a crowd of people right at the front-door waiting for a table which can get a little frustrating! But that is so easily remedied by making reservations ahead of time! The atmosphere and decor are wonderful, very clean and stylish, while the wait-service is quick and impeccable. The food is on the spicier side - which I love! But I suppose perhaps not for everyone. Their Wonton Soup was so so, but their Curry Pumpkin soup is a must try! The Orange Cashew Nut Chicken is absolutely mind-blowing! Spicy but not so spicy that it could not be enjoyed. Always delicious food at this location!
This is an all you can eat Japanese and Thai restaurant. It has some of the best sushi and Thai food that I have ever had. Portions are plentiful. The quality of the food is excellent. All of the sushi items were good, though the spicy salmon wasn't very spicy. By contrast, all of the Thai items, such as pad thai and curry fish, were very spicy. I can't complain about any of the food. The decor is nice, but the service is somewhat lacking. Items were slow to arrive, though they were worth the wait. The price was high but I don't mind, considering the quality.
Wonderful place, especially for those who aren't familiar with Thai or Japanese cuisine. I highly *HIGHLY* recommend the lunch buffet. Its basically an all-you-can eat of smaller portions based on just about everything on their dinner menu. Great food and punctual service. The only bothersome thing I found was the noise level --- which can be attributed to the warehouse style ceiling. Noise carries just about everywhere, which makes it somewhat troublesome for smaller/intimate outings. Still, for the value, its a great place to go regularly.
Spoon & Fork has excellent Japanese food. The all-you-can-eat price is $25 and it is such a good value. The food is excellent (I could not get enough of the sashimi and my husband loved the curry). The owner came by and spoke to us for some time. They also own JJ's in Streetsville (also outstanding Thai food!) and he remembered our names! We will definately be back - with a group!
Best All you can Eat Restaurant Ever. Their food is phenomenal. So fresh, so tasty. Two thumbs up, no ifs ands or buts. You will not be disappointed. I went with a group of 4, and we all got the all you can eat. We shared many of the things on the menu.
Great service - owner/manager dropped by our table to thank us. Food was fresh and creative. Flavors were amazing. The appetizer platter was a great selection. I will go back again to try other dishes since there was so much on the menu. What an amazing contrast to the usual mediocre Thai restaurants.
The food is very fesh and presentation is lovely. Decor is warm and inviting. Try the glassed in area in teh centre of the restaurant. Service is outstanding. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. On a repeat visit with a group of friends, the waitress remembered that my husband and I enjoy the banana fritters and sent a plate over for my friends and I at the end of the meal. This restaurant offers excellent value.
