Our Fav restaurant. We dine in or take out a few times a week. Addicted really. We have been to many Vietnamese restaurants all over the GTA and Pho Saigon has the best Pho vermicelli and shrimp rolls. Fresh ingredients that has never made me wonder.
My wife and I arrived around 5:15 P.M. and were immediatly seated and handed menues. So far so good. Then things started heading down there from there. There was one waitress who took orders, served drinks, gave out the bills and took the money for the ENTIRE place! This wasn't too bad when we go there as there were only 4 tables being served. But later some larger groups came in which meant we had to start to compete for attention. When ordering my meal I was told there was no rice left. The thought came to mind: "What Asian place doesn't have rice?" and "Isn't rice a main component of most Asian dishes?" The waitress, after I dumbfoundedly looked at her over the rice issue, suggested I try noodles. So I did. I was sadly disspointed at the result. It turned out to be a chopped chicken pieces with lettuce and noodles on the bottom. It tasted quite bland, and once the noodles got colder it only got worse from there. My wife had the large pho. The broth was quite bland but at least the noodles were satisfactory. To say the least we probably won't return as we've had better vietnamese elsewhere.
This place has the best pho in the GTA!! Of all the places, Newmarket would be the last place I'd expect to find a great pho restaurant. I eat here at least once a week with my wife. We used to drive to Toronto or Richmondhill for our vietnamese food, but since we discovered this place we're not eating Vietnamese anywhere else. We always order the shrimp and pork spring rolls. The sauce that comes with it is SO delicious that we always ask for extra. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is always friendly. You get all that for less than $10 (usuallly) per person and it's right here in Newmarket!
My wife and I used to make this place a weekly stop. The food is very good, the service has always been terrible but the pho made up for it. We stopped going to this restaurant when we witnessed one of the waitresses attempt to serve another customer a drink, they refused it, then they unapologetically attempted to serve it to me. I refused the recycled drink and asked that it be made fresh, which was refused. I wonder what else there is recycled and served to unsuspecting customers. We took our business elsewhere after that. In my opinion, this is a restaurant with excellent food and horrible service without regard for the customer.
Hubby and I eat here almost every week. Great food. Always served fresh. Good value for your dollar. Service is good (I highly suspect the negative reviews written before me are false and intented to maliciously harm the business) Tea comes with your order which is a nice feature. I would deffinately reccomend this establishment to my friends and family. One of my favorites in Newmarket.
