East Side Village invites you to their dining room. This eatery features chow mein and wonton soup for 11$ to 25$. They are open nightly from Monday to Friday. You can get there by car.
This is a WARNING, not a review, DO NOT EAT OR ORDER TAKE OUT FROM HERE! The old Eastside Village was a pleasant, unassuming Chinese eatery with good food and friendly owners/staff. The new management have no business running a restaurant. We were unable to order any of the “Steamed” items from the menu because they said they had run out. This was at 4:30 PM… They forgot to include the sweet and sour sauce; the chicken fried rice had absolutely NO chicken!? No apology or discount offered.
I've sampled their large menu a few times, but for some reason avoided their Chinese food items until one day.. I have to say my favorite Chinese Take out style in Kingston is East Side Village.. I'm very impressed! ..
Homemade egg rolls - Yum!
East side village is a small asian restaurant located in a small plaza across the street from regiopolis high school. The location makes it seem like a very dodgy place to eat, but once you get inside, you're greeted by a nice owner and, i guess, good decor
The menu here is pretty big, so you might be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choices, but calm down, it's nice and organized so you won't get lost. The lunch menu is located in the middle, and I usually order from there, so its a great place to start. I've had most items on the lunch menu, but the pad thai and red curry are my favourites. I've had other things like general tao chicken and they were ok. It's mostly americanized chinese food, but good nonetheless
I rated the atmosphere low because it's right across the street from regi, so you could imagine at lunch time, the place is packed with high school kids. And no one like that. If you decide to visit at another time, the atmosphere would probably be better. Decor is a bit strange too, there's a picture of a lamborghini on the wall. They also used to have a big buck hunter arcade game, and I guess it was there to appeal to the kids. Too bad it's gone
Overall though, great place to go, in bit of a shady area, but don't let that stop you from coming here
