Vienna is known to be one of the oldest running Restaurants in Guelph, if not Canada. It has served soldiers of both world-wars before they entered and returned from over seas service. Many local Artists, Politicians, Police Officers and Fireman have frequented the diner over the years.
Me and my friend went to the Vienna a few weeks ago for breakfast and we sat with strangers. I do not think it was very professional of the waitress to ask us to share a table with strangers and would have preferred to wait a few more minutes for our own table since we saw other tables available as we waited for our breakfast.
We really enjoyed being at the Vienna, as I grew up going to it when I was younger. It has really been cleaned up!! The food was terrific and the service was what we had hoped for.
We visited for dinner last Saturday evening. The Schnitzels were simply the best and we all enjoyed our German Potato Salad.
We all walked out with Ice cream cones
We will be back!!!!!
I want to start off by saying congratulations to the new owner of Vienna, I am glad to see that the new owner respects good food and hospitality. I had visited Vienna before the change in ownership and I was disgusted. The food was nearly inedible, the service was horrible and when I casually took a peek in the kitchen, I noticed that they had no standards of health and safety.
Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying a homemade burger and fresh cut fries for lunch, I finished off my meal with a mouthwatering slice of homemade chocolate cake. I was served by one of the new servers, she were pleasant and attentive... Last time I was in I was served by a rude Greek lady who quite obviously only cares about receiving tips. Overall it was a great experience, I will be taking my family there quite soon.
Good luck to the new owner :)
