Boathouse Seafood Restaurant welcomes you to their establishment. They are open nightly all week. You can get there not only by car but also by public transit.
If you are looking for a great fish N chip this is the place for you. Light crispy and huge portions.. Im not one to have left overs but this time I did
the fires are average at best, but due to the fish quality I can put up with it
Very nice restaurant inside. Waitresses friendly and we were seated immediately but it was not very busy due to the time of day. Our order was taken immediately and I ordered the Fish and Chips and my wife ordered the Halibut and chips. Her Halibut was delicious but could have been a bigger portion.
I got my fish and chips to discover it was Pollock. The very thick batter was greasy and the Pollock was mushy which is typical of Pollock when cooked. I removed the greasy batter from the fish only to discover a minnow size piece of fish.
It was all you could eat fish, however, my stomach was recoiling from the grease which affected me all night. I should have gone for the Halibut. All in all it is a nice place with friendly staff and a great atmosphere on the water.
Stay away from the All you can eat Pollock.
I have been coming here for 10 +yrs and since moving to Ottawa a friend and I decided to go last Sat. for dinner while I was visiting. Despite being packed and we had no reservation the waitress found us a table. Yes, its noisy in there on weekends. The patio is beautiful during nice weather-it wasn't. I had a huge piece of boathouse fish, baked potato and steamed veg while my friend had a smaller piece of halibut, fries and coleslaw. For $4 more hers was almost half the size of mine so she decided next time she'd have the usual fish they serve- I gave her some of mine to try-always hot, crispy and not greasy. You get to pick 2 side dishes from a list. I have never had rude service here., in fact the couple next to us got a free dessert because something wasn't quite right with their meal(didn' t know what )I have only had seafood dishes so I can't comment on the others. Our Belleville "go to "place for fish and chips.
PS the decorative fish tanks do need cleaning-try not to sit right in front of them.
