This company did an amazing job and the floors look great!! Job was done in a timely matter and had great service.
Bubbles throughout the finish, 60% of the house. Dust everywhere because they did not poly off rooms. Baseboards and door bottoms stained because they did not tape. Chatter lines everywhere from poorly maintained equipment. Stain variation and circular swirls everywhere from pure laziness. They tried to intimidate me when I said I wanted to get a second opinion on the quality of the work. They stopped communicating when I send them the certified inspection report.
I had two different coworkers give me a positive reference for this hardwood flooring outfit. I was told it's a family run business, they're quite affordable, and they do good work - at least when my coworkers had their hardwood floors refinished by Brittanica many years ago. Sounds good to me - I have a lot of hardwoods, and am loathe to let anyone ruin them. I phoned about two weeks ago asking for an estimate. The woman was brusque and didn't seem interested in taking my contact information, but was flexible in offering me a weekend estimate appointment in two weeks. Two weeks pass. Nobody shows up. No phone call. Nothing. I phone back and get the same woman, the same brusqueness, no apology or acknowledgement that I even had an appointment (which I had to give up various commitments to be home for). I politely ask if they're still available for estimates. (A ballpark figure over the phone would have been fine, too.) I'm given an appointment time the following day. I ask for a phone call if they are unable to make it. The woman takes my address and contact information again. The next day, for the second time, nobody shows up. No phone call. Nothing. My father ran his own painting company. And I know that "time is money". So I can understand if you're: a) too busy b) are trying to reduce workload c) don't give free estimates d) can't make a scheduled appointment e) don't give estimates on weekends But simply say so! Or call me if you cannot make it. Not showing up is simply disrespectful and insulting, as if my business is not good enough for you and my time means nothing. There's too much of this going around in the renovation industry these days and I am sick of it. I would not recommend any business/service that treats people in this way, and so I would not recommend Brittanica Hardwood flooring,
