The Alpine Café and Catering Co has been owned and operated by Kevin Wood and Martini Bart since its inception in 2004. Both owners are Chefs with European training and qualifications. Martini immigrated to Canada in 1988 and has worked in kitchens in Banff, Vernon and Blue River before coming to Araxi restaurant as Sous Chef in 1994. He ran Gone Bakery in Whistler Village from 1998-2003. Kevin spent 5 years cooking in Europe after a 2 year chef training course. This was followed by a BA degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Q.M University, Edinburgh. After graduation, and another couple of years in kitchen management, he moved to Canada and Araxi restaurant. In 1996 Kevin joined Monk's Grill where he spent 5 years rising to Restaurant Manager. The Alpine Cafe and Catering Co. reflects their extensive experience and passion for great food. Our regular clients include many of Whistler's successful outdoor companies including Whistler Heli-Ski, Outdoor Adventures Whistler, Whistler Cross Country Ski and Hike and Whistler Eco-Tours.
