The Roost Farm Centre is home to a unique bakery, garden Market and gift shop. The Roost is located on Highland House Farm, a 10 acre hobby farm located at the corner of McTavish and East Saanich Roads, in North Saanich BC. The bakery serves up farm fresh breakfast, hearty soups and sandwiches, salads, quiche, breads, pies and other sweet treats. We also serve thin crust pizza from our wood fired pizza oven! When we arrived at the restaurant for lunch we were waiting for some time to be seated. When we finally were my father-in-law asked for a coffee to which the lady who escourted us snapped that she had to figure out who our server was first. Turns out she was our server and not a very good one. She did inform us of a mandatory gratuity. I was surprised when our lunch bill came to $130. $20 of that being a tip for really slow rude service. Only sandwiches on the menu and without a side dish.
I have been to the Roost for lunch many times. It's just like a picnic.
Their sandwiches are terrific, the bread is fresh, the soup is delicious and homemade.
