"It's important to be careful when tanning, either with the sun or in a salon," says Linda Whitney, owner of TABU Tanning Salon. "If you burn more than five times in your life, you double your risk of skin cancer."
Linda’s cautionary words come from someone who began tanning to address skin issues brought on by psoriasis. "I've tanned most of my life," says Linda. "It's a wonderful fix for many skin conditions."
Thinking that she might be able to help others with similar challenges, Linda opened TABU Tanning Salon in May 2005. "All my kids are grown up now and I was looking for a business where I could combine my love of tanning with an interest in helping people." Through her salon, Linda finds that she can offer some relief to clients suffering from a host of skin issues while also educating people on the benefits of tanning.
