Born and raised in Edmonton, Karen Visser learned the ropes of the interior design business from working in marketing, textiles and interior design before opening Bella Casa Design Centre Ltd in 2007. “Interior design has always been my passion, which is why I decided to open the store,” she says.
In 1995, Karen was an interior decorator becoming familiar with the field. As she gained experience working with different clients and show homes, she noticed that there was a deep need for more diverse and unique product offerings. She opened Bella Casa in 2007 as a design centre that also offered high quality bedding. In 2009, she began offering kitchen accessories and gadgets, tableware and cookware, too. Bella Casa was renovated in 2016 to make the design centre much larger.
Now, Bella Casa Design Centre Ltd is a one-stop shop for her client’s interior design and decor needs. “We draw in a lot of professional and well-travelled customers from the surrounding Edmonton area,” she says. “Being a boutique-oriented space, we focus on meeting each and every one of our customer’s needs.”
