Send for seafood: Sushi delivery in Calgary

Calgary might be 1,000 kilometres from the ocean, but you’d never guess it from the freshness of the sushi available here. The following is a list of Calgary restaurants that will deliver fresh, delicious sushi to your door.

Bubble Sushi

1
783 Northmount Dr NW, Calgary, AB T2L 0A1

Bubble Sushi in Triwood offers delivery to a sizeable portion of the northwest. Order online or by phone, and have yummy, hand-wrapped cones, sushi and sashimi speedily delivered to your door. Bubble is happy to customize dishes for dietary concerns, and the restaurant’s menu features plenty of gluten-free options. And yes, Bubble does serve bubble tea, too!

Hana Sushi Japanese Restaurant

2
1807 4 St SW, Calgary, AB T2S 1W2

Located in Mission on the Fourth Street Southwest restaurant row, Hana Sushi has been serving top-quality sushi since 1998. You’ve got to try the Stampeder roll (salmon, tuna, prawn, avocado and fish roe). Serving a crowd? Order the Hana Boat, which includes four pieces each of salmon and tuna sashimi, two pieces each of salmon, tuna, prawn, and red snapper sushi, four pieces of house special roll, six pieces of California roll, six pieces of salmon roll and six pieces of cucumber roll.

Sho Sushi Bar & Kitchen

3
7212 MacLeod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0L9

If you can’t make it to their perpetually busy and super funky Macleod Trail restaurant, the team at Sho Sushi is more than happy to transport their delicious sushi to you. And, yes, the menu features sushi standards such as the dynamite roll or California roll, but its specialty rolls are what makes Sho Sushi really shine. The sashimi is fresh and flavourful and available à la carte.

Kinjo Sushi & Grill

4
415-5005 Dalhousie Dr NW, Calgary, AB T3A 5R8

With three busy Calgary locations (in Millrise, Kingsland and Dalhousie) and a fourth location in Country Hills opening soon, it’s no wonder Kinjo Sushi & Grill consistently receives top billing on best-sushi lists. Its sushi, tempura, teriyaki and other authentic Japanese dishes are perfect for an in-home sushi night if you just can’t get out of your PJs.

Hankook Chicken

5
923 6 Ave Sw, Calgary, AB T2P 0V7

Though the dine-in experience is excellent (the restaurant is styled after the pubs that Japanese salary men visit after a long day of work), the restaurant’s takeout food is fantastic. This downtown hotspot delivers across the entire city in less than 45 minutes.

Shibuya Izakaya Japanese Sushi Restaurant

6
449 16 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 1K3

In an unassuming brick strip mall on the busy Trans-Canada Highway, Shibuya Izakaya offers up an excellent sushi experience. Even its delivery orders are artfully presented. Cuddle up with Netflix and a sushi spread of cracking Cajun roll, baked oyster motoyaki and the brilliantly coloured red ahi tuna sashimi.

Big Catch Sushi

7
130-8835 Macleod Trail Sw, Calgary, AB T2H 0M2

With a reputation for excellent, large-scale corporate catering, Big Catch also has no problem delivering freshly made rolls, sashimi and other delicious dishes to your party. They only deliver in the early evening Thursdays through Sundays, and their delivery zone is limited to the region around Kingsland, Fairview, Elbow Park and Acadia. We suggest making a friend in the area if you want some scrumptious sushi without having to sit in.

Li-Ao & Sushi

8
231-2335 162 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2Y 4S6

This hidden gem in Bridlewood offers inexpensive sushi without sacrificing quality. Ask about the restaurant’s specials when you call, as certain items (such as the yummy teriyaki steak roll and grilled black cod) only appear on the menu occasionally. Delivery is available city wide.

Brouhaha

9
100-609 14 St Nw, Calgary, AB T2N 2A1

A Kensington favourite, Red Ember offers a consistently great experience in the restaurant, which definitely translates to its delivery service as well, though you’ll miss out on the complimentary sample appetizers. If you’re in its delivery zone (it can change depending on how busy the place is and its staffing level) order up a sushi selection that includes a spicy snapper wrap, spicy volcano roll or lobster roll. You won’t be disappointed.

There’s just something about fireside dining that makes a meal special. They probably won’t let you roast any chestnuts in the fireplaces of these cozy Calgary restaurants and bars, but you can at least keep the winter chills at bay while enjoying an extra-comforting meal.
If the only hot chocolate you know is the grainy mix from a store-bought tin or the muck shot from arena vending machines, it’s time to venture into the cafés and chocolate shops of Calgary and treat your taste buds to a much more satisfying version of this decadent winter treat. Even if you do pride yourself on making a quality hot cocoa at home, you’re going to love the variety these hot beverage connoisseurs offer.
Chai, the Hindi word for tea, evokes images of steaming cups of tea, steeped in tradition. There are many ways to make a lovely chai, from mixing loose tea and water, to the traditional Indian method that perfectly balances Indian black tea, cinnamon and cloves brewed in hot milk. So, order a mug of this comforting drink and stay a while at any of our favourite places to order chai in Calgary.
