The streets are alive with the smell of coffee in Little Italy. Check out the following places to find the perfect beans for grinding and brewing the ideal coffee at home, morning, noon or night.

Nova Era Bakery & Pastry

You can and will manage to get home to grind your espresso beans without touching the delicious Nata pastry you picked up at Nova Era. A rotating selection of coffees is great, but if you’re looking for consistency, this is an excellent place to stock up on European medium-roast espresso beans. They tend to use the same brands and beans routinely, but they all go well with Natas!

They retail coffee beans with a history here. The Sicilian-based Moak brand nods towards the ancient Moors’ love of coffee by taking the old Arabic word for the name of the city where it is treated – Modica. They produce organic and eco-friendly coffee at a plant powered by photovoltaics, so you can grind your Moak beans with a smile. Also, you can’t have Italian coffee without a pastry, and this bakery offers a great selection.

You’ve gotta love a place with a friendly, can-do attitude. They serve a range of coffees here made with Portuguese Torrié beans that they grind on site. If you like the coffee (and you probably will) you can ask to take some home. Just decide how much you’d like and they’ll work out a price. Torrié also focuses on social and environmental concerns during sourcing and production, so you can enjoy your cup with peace of mind.
