As you head out on summer road trips, remember to "Slow Down, Move Over" for emergency vehicles and workers stopped on the roadside – it’s the law in BC. If you see orange cones or any vehicle with red, blue or yellow flashing lights, it's time to take extra care: ✅ If the posted speed limit is 80 km/h or more, slow to 70 km/h ✅ If it's under 80 km/h, slow to 40 km/h ✅ Always proceed with caution and move over if it's safe to do so. A small change in speed can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe on the road this summer! 🚗 Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gHxbkzDq

During National Indigenous History Month we wanted to share a new way we’re honouring the ancestral, unceded territories where we work. BCAA and Evo have opened gatherings with spoken land acknowledgements, but now we’re honouring the continued presence of Indigenous Peoples and their ongoing stewardship of these lands within our physical spaces as well. These acknowledgements are location-specific and developed in consultation with Indigenous communities to accurately and meaningfully reflect the local lands and peoples. You'll find them at our office in Burnaby and our locations throughout the province. Learn more about our activities and plans to advance reconciliation here: https://lnkd.in/gBRSu-Rr

This National AccessAbility Week, we are spotlighting Inclusive Experiences – an organization educating BCAA team members on recognizing the assumptions shaping how disability is understood. Co-led by a disabled founder and a parent of a disabled child, Inclusive Experiences helps schools, workplaces and communities examine ableism and build more equitable systems. “Lip service is a disservice,” say co-founders Elisabeth Walker-Young and Shawna Lawson. “Real inclusion requires more than good intentions.” To learn more about Inclusive Experiences, visit inclusive-experiences.ca Image Description: Two female business owners smiling and holding up black postcards that read “Lip Service Is Disservice” and “Talk Is Cheap.”
