Myriam Le Liboux arrived in Canada from France in 2009, when her husband’s company transferred him to its Montreal office. She had left behind a career in teaching, but newly arrived in Quebec, she devoted her time to local organizations as a volunteer. She organized events for the Arthritis Society of Quebec and then served on the advisory committee of Montréal Accueil, an organization specialized in assisting Francophone families to integrate in Quebec. After two years as the association's president, Myriam was ready for something new.
Her love of home decor and interior design led her to Kokoon, a boutique filled with an immense array of delightful finds on Bernard Street. Myriam developed a fondness for the store, so when the owner decided to put the shop up for sale, she offered to buy. Myriam made the boutique hers and soon began to shape the store in her image, adding brands and product lines from her native France. “I wanted to continue what the previous owners had created and add my own personal touch from my French origins," she explains.
