Staying in shape often means spending innumerable hours in an impersonal gym, completing mechanical routines with headphones on, along with equally mute peers. At Bamboofit Zumba, the opposite is true: the electrifying ambiance and energetic workouts are social to the core. That is an important dimension of physical activity for sisters and co-owners Lina and Laura Barreto.
Bamboofit Zumba’s specialty is Zumba; the high-intensity workout fuses Latin American dancing with jazz steps and aerobic movement, promoting cardiovascular endurance, strength and agility. “We put a lot of emphasis on preventive care and proper form during physical activity to offer a complete service to our clients. We have a nutritionist and a kinesiologist on the team, which allows us to truly offer the best advice to people who choose us for their Zumba practice,” Lina explains.
The studio is commitment-free. Rather than signing up for a contract, clients buy a package of classes according to their needs and take them as their schedule allows. “Clients are free to come whenever and however many times they want,” adds Lina.
