Great spot for quick yummy sushi. Always fresh, great service. Close to the University - Perfect place for students as well.
Deffinitly a favorite restaraunt of mine. Great food! Service could use a little touch up but all around a great place to eat. I recomend it to all of my friends and all of my friends get hooked on it. :)
Was there last night june 17 a group of 10 service was great the food was excellent! The restaurant was busy and great service!
A favorite restaurant of mine! I've tried other AYCE sushi places, and they just don't compare. Hoi doesn't have many 'specialty rolls', but it's not a big deal. What they do have is tasty and made with just enough flair you forget you're at an AYCE place. Since I've been so many times, I've had a couple 'service troubles', but as soon as you mention it, the waitstaff get right on it to make you happy (no one's perfect, but at least they try). Some people have mentioned that they didn't get all of their meal, and that does happen on occasion--but then you just order more! One time we couldn't finish the last roll, and they charged a *very* reasonable, small amount. We were tempted to leave more the next time, just so we could take home some cheap sushi. Overall, I'm a happy customer!
Cousin & I just went to the Hoi Sushi restaraunt on Wyandotte Street East. Had THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Got in there at 11:55, ordered food and didn't get the first plate for another 20 minutes! 20 minutes later another tray came out. Had to leave to get him back to work and by 12:55 we had not been served all our food yet! Couple next to us came in 5 minutes before us....they were served one little plate of food in the whole hour they were there (they walked out). They cried "we are short staffed today" but the way I saw it a lot of "other" people (folks different than us) got their food much quicker than us.....will never go back again and will never recommed them to anyone again!
Took some friends there recently for the all-you-can-eat sushi bar. The food was good and the service was pleasant. If you don't finish all your food, you can bring it home for a small fee. Fair policy. Reduces waste. Will be back!
My hubby and I came here on a recommendation. The restaurant was nice, the service was friendly etc... BUT I came in search of good sushi and found it to be just ok. Meaning, it was decent, edible and filling because it was "all you can eat", but it wasn't sushi that I could rave about or recommend. The rolls were falling apart and the fish looked like it was butchered. I don't want to sound like a sushi snob, but making it is a real art form and it takes years to learn to make it right. I've been to so many different sushi restaurants, and I know high, average, and low end sushi. I just expect the average, and so far in Windsor, every sushi restaurant I've tried has been just below my average expectation (except for the one in Tecumseh that burnt down). There are a few more I haven't tried, so I'm still hopeful. BOTTOM LINE: it's edible and filling and about $25pp for AYCE dinner if you don't care too much about presentation and variety of fish.
Good service, great food, i leave here stuffed everytime. Go with the dinner menu for AYCE though--the lunch one has much fewer options. The regular server is a sweetheart and the place is nice and clean. the sushi is excellent quality, one of the better sushi place in windsor.
This is a restaurant I choose to go to many many times when heading out for a meal. I have brought all my friends and coworkers at one point or another, and they in turn have brought their family. What I love about Hoi's, is that it is a buffet but the food is ALWAYS made fresh. You fill out your little paper, they bring the food. Sometimes the chefs will forget an order or two of yours, perhaps its due to them being so busy, but its not a big deal just to get more papers and re-order. This is an AMAZING sushi/japanese restaurant and I will continue to frequent it.
For the first AYCE sushi in Windsor, this place is pretty good. The service can be a bit slow, especially when it's busy. Sometimes they forget parts of your order. The sushi is good and the sashimi is good. the appetizers are good as well. The desserts are satisfying too. The presentation of the sushi could be a little nicer, a little neater. My friends and I like to come here when we are hungry and dying for sushi. We stuff ourselves silly :)
