Riverdale to Bloordale…from the people who brought you Pulp and Butterfield8 on the Danforth comes a new store called TOWN.
TOWN features an ever changing collection of cards, postcards, gift wrap, paper products and design inspired wares.
As you stroll past the storefronts on Bloor Street West it’s hard to miss the famous faces in the window at TOWN. Marilyn Monroe, David Bowie and Charlie Chaplin are among the crowd of iconic entertainers peering out from behind the glass at Shelley Town’s charming card and giftware shop. The cheeky celebrity masks, designed by Mamelock Papercraft in the U.K., are the perfect theme party accessory or last minute Halloween costume.
With legendary stars in the window and quirky design-oriented wares lining the shelves, it’s easy to see that TOWN isn’t just a run of the mill stationary shop. Greeting cards might be the store’s “bread and butter” as Shelley puts it, but there’s a delightful world of toys, stationary, magnets, soaps and décor items inside the enchanting emporium.
The next time you’re walking through Bloordale check out TOWN, your new source for quirky cards, gorgeous stationery, gifts and design items. With uber ergonomic pencils, modern colouring books, do-it-yourself banners, TOWN has paper and craft activities for everyone. The Bloor Street boutique is also known for stocking beautiful seasonal items and gifts – keep your eyes peeled for floral wrapping paper in the spring and holiday ornaments in the winter.
This charming Bloordale gift shop is filled with design-focused wares, including stationery, toys, home décor and apothecary items. The Field Jar pillar candles from Skeem Design have a 35-hour burn time and are inspired by 19th century specimen jars, complete with handwritten labels and cork stoppers. Best of all, the beautiful glass containers can be used to display your own collections (or as unique drinking glasses) once the wick burns down. You’ll even find a do-it-yourself giftwrapping station inside the store — a helpful bonus for those last-minute present purchases.
