Tourists drift in out and of Susan Harris’s eponymous boutique, drawn in by her décor—particularly her nature-inspired birch tree centrepiece—as much as by her earth-toned multi-layer textile clothing.
While Susan has been selling her work since 2001 at trade shows, art exhibitions and boutiques, she took a risk in early 2014 and set up shop to showcase her work, along with other artists, in the Distillery District. No stranger to the fashion industry, Susan earned her chops as a sewer for True Value Vintage in the late 80’s and early 90’s by redesigning saris into halter-tops, and denim jeans into skirts.
