it was juicy lasagne was awesome
Excellent lasagna! Great neighbourhood place. Nice casual atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable.
A perennial favourite: excellent food, in the simple ingredients perfectly done form one finds all over Italy. It starts with tomato sauce: deep rich flavours redolent from hours of slow cooking. You can't do a sauce like this quickly. Sardines that are crisp and fresh, simple Genovese salad, sure, but perfect boccocini will remind you why people love this cheese. Friendly waitstaff, who seem to enjoy having you there. It's small, and loud, and they don't take reservations. But I've been there often, and I keep coming back.
We had heard such good things surrounding this restaurant. We ordered the Tomato and Bocconchini salad. It was $7.50. It consisted of 3 thinly sliced cuts of tomato and 4 mini bocconchini balls drizzled in olive oil. It was such a joke. I ordered the 'sexy' duck leg. Please tell me what is so sexy about a duck leg covered in rosemary? It was actually laughable. My partner ordered the veal lasagna that was douced in a coating of tomato sauce that was completely generic and unmemorable it ruined the otherwise tasty lasanga. The food tastes good but really how hard can it be to prepare this selection as it is so simple and standardized anyways. We won't be returning.
Went to the Danforth location to enjoy the great weather on the patio, however it turned out to be a terrible meal. This was our second trip to 7 numbers, the first time i was also disappointed but i thought i would give it another try. Everything they served seemed like it was leftovers....last week's leftovers. My fish was, how do i put this....the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. For $14 entre, i would expect a decent sized portion but what you get here is a tiny (No Frills fish selection perhaps?) little piece soaked in a slimy, gelatinous lemon sludge. Brought to the table with nothing else, just the fish. Sides are extra. Service is great, chairs on the patio are borrowed from a fast food joint, the food...i really don't know what they are thinking here, just not edible. Our bill came to $65, i could have spent half that and had a decent meal just about anywhere else on the danforth.
excellent fresh and extremely fair priced. are you kidding me try and get that quality out of any other resto. for that price
I went with a few friends last weekend and the atmosphere was very romantic and welcoming. The service was also very good. I must say though I was disappointed with the food. We had a variety of antipasti which was 'ok' the one that stood out was the deep fried calamari which was excellent and of course the deep fried dough with peppers and tomatoe sauce. The pastas we had were terrible. The 'lasagna' has a very strong smoke flavour to it (weird)and all the sauces used in the pastas were very acidic. The secondo's (egg plant, rabbit and rottoli) we had were edible but again just ok. Its to bad because the atmosphere was wonderful. I would not go back to this place because for me its mostly about the food.
