I live downtown and often go to ritz the last time I went just two weeks ago my boyfriend got BBQ chicken and when he got home for us to the eat the BBQ chicken had a disgusting smell like it was rotten. It was honestly the worst thing I have ever experienced.
On Saturday June 23rd, 2012. I went to support Ritz by going into there establisment and have a nice dinner. I went up to the take-out counter and the girl wearing a white head tie was their and she felt i was taken to long to order. So she called me a "STUPID COW" I was shocked!!! and for that reason I will never go back there again,
Best Curry Goat in the city! The chicken roti is the perfect and the jerk is out of this world. You have to go. The food was great and the service better only thing was we went at night and we had to wait in the line-up will she (Simone) the nice girl ran back and forth. They need more people at the cash!!! She kept smiling and made us feel welcomed.
I have made several visits to Ritz but I'm very disappointed to say that I will never eat there again. On Thursday Aug 26th while eating a ox tail dinner I found a fly in my food so I requested my money back and the store refused to do so. Now I try to support small local businesses but the lack of professionalism and customer service makes it hard for me to do so.
-foods always great -servers always seem to be grumpy and have bad attitudes
i decided to go in for a veggie roti for dinner, take out. i asked the guy if there was tomato in the veggie roti and told him i have an allergy. he had the music on so loud, that now, i think he pretended to hear me, because his answer was "no." anyway-i brought it home, ate half of it, it was lacking in flavour and i was regretting ordering it. my throat started to get tight, and i started to feel weird. THEN-i found tomato skin! all i have to say is they are lucky my allergy isn't deadly! i'd like to thank them for the hives! i will not be going back and i will let people know about this event! unreal!
Ritz is Great!...Rotis are the real deal I had the Goat..my bro in law had the beef which could tell it was braised...delicious!! only go to the one at College and Yong though the folks at yonge up from Wellsley are are rude. Stick to Yonge College...
This was our first visit. We saw some guys eating this delicious looking food at a park on Yonge St. and asked them where they got it. They directed us to the Ritz. We had our two young daughters with us who are very adventurous eaters. Smelled good when we entered the joint. We got our food to go and ate it in a park. The food was delicious, we all enjoyed it. Our daughters would have preferred the salad however. I really thought they should have had more salad ready at dinner time. Be careful if you can't handle spicy food. The rice was piquant and the curry chicken was very hot for me, but fine for my husband. We were glad to have found this restaurant and would go back again.
I have eaten at the Ritz many times, at all locations. If you want great, authentic, home cooked Caribbean food that is full of flavor, give them a try. I have had Roti at many places and the Ritz makes the best. (Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, Chana) They also have many specialty items that are hard to find at other so called Caribbean restaurants. The service is always very friendly but due to the high anount of customers it is sometimes a little slow, but very worth the wait. Give it a try.
The food is very good, the service cannot be helped because theres always a line up which extends outside on Yonge Street.
RUDE RUDE RUDE! That's all I can say about the service from the owner or manager of Ritz on Yonge St. First time I went there, he REFUSED to sell me a small container of a side dish, insisting that I buy a large container for only myself, even though the location on College will sell you anything you want to eat! Second time, he wouldn't give me coleslaw with my take-out order even though it was part of the advertised meal. This rude man said that coleslaw was for dine-in customers only because it would cost him money (probably 2 cents) to use a take-out container for the coleslaw. Unbelievable!! For the price of a 2cent container he has lost my business and all of my friends. This man is trying to milk as much money as possible from customers and is being cheap and dishonest in the process! I will never eat there again!

Located across the street from the Eaton Centre, Ritz Caribbean is known for low prices and fast service. The jerk chicken is a go-to spot for many Torontoians, and we can see why. The lunch special is one of the best in the city and the taste of the jerk chicken makes the deal even better!
