I only gave them 1 star because of the reservation process. I called Stratford to make my reservation and didn't realize I had been sent to their corporate voice mail and the reservation was not passed back to Stratford. When we got to the restaurant we did NOT have a reservation so we had to sit in the lounge and it was not very comfortable to eat a meal. Very disappointed in that. The hostess told me next time NOT to leave a message but to hang up and call until I reached their front desk.
The menu is not extensive and there was no overall 'theme' but the food we had was pretty good. They recommended a great wine and the waitress was excellent - both friendly and helpful. We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. Not a fine dining experience if that is what you want but a comfortable experience. We split a salad and the entree portions were a good size. My husband had a Thai noodle type dish and he really enjoyed it. I had the prime rib which came as I requested. We didn't have dessert but marvelled at a couple of plates that went by.
The food was excellent. We came in from Kitchener for dinner and were not dissapointed. I had the large cut of prime rib which was huge and cooked perfect. My wife had the beet salad and the salmon which was wonderful as well. The service was extremly good the whole evening. They also have a very good beer selection. We will definitley be going back
Great service, very friendly. Amazing food, new chef knows what he is doing. Had the feature app and the short rib poutine. Both were amazing, too full for desert though. Heard the Pavlova is out of this world though. Great time, go back anytime, highly recommended if in Stratford.
I went with my friend to catch up over dinner. We were seated immediately. Our waiter came right away and introduced himself and told us if we had any questions with the menu to not be afraid to ask. He was very approachable. We ordered drinks (long island iced tea and stella, The long island is a double so make sure you can handle it!) and tried to peruse the menu while still talking. I ordered the feature salad of Heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, while my friend skipped an appetizer. The salad came out right away and looked fantastic. The presentation was so good I didn't want to eat it. The salad lived up to the presentation, it was so good I had all of it! Our mains came out in reasonable time. My friend got the dry rub striploin (?) and I got the Prime Rib. Right when our waiter set down my plate he noticed that the kitchen had missed adding carrots to my plate. He went straight to the kitchen to find them. He then came back with a side dish of carrots. I was so engulfed in conversation and the look of the rest of the food I probably wouldn't have noticed!! There was enough Prime Rib on my plate to serve at least 2 people. It all was sooooo good though. Most people could easily go in and have just the Prime Rib and be full. There was lots of mashed potatoes on the plate that were very good, yorkshire pudding that was great and gravy. The carrots were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had to finish the whole bowl they gave me. They were so good. We then ordered dessert. They all looked so good we could not resist. My friend got cappucino and the pavlova. I ordered the apple crisp with ice cream. It all was so good. The appetizer was $10, prime rib was $30, all desserts are $10. To wrap up, we had fantastic service, great food and a good time. It was a great night! I would recommend to all!
