Mountbel Apartments

I thought places like this only existed in horror movies. The general upkeep of the place is very poor, garbage all over the place, signs of water damage not repaired, malfunctioning elevators, etc. The bug problem mentioned in other reviews still appears to be there. On viewing one apartment I saw several live roaches crawling around and was told they had just recently sprayed the place for bugs. Apartment itself was really run down. Could be a nice place under different management.

Bed bugs!!

The worst place!!! Only moved here August 2 2017 and days after moving in my daughter was covered in bed bug bites! Have had it sprayed twice now and thrown out mattresses and couches, not to mention clothing and bedding!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I have to date it but even 1 is definitely too high!!!

This apartment building has a bed bug problem and roach problem as well i can deal with roaches but not the bed bugs. They obviously will not tell you they are dealing with a bed bug problem when you are coming to look and rent a place ..until you move in and get a huge unsuspected suprise. If they deal with bed bugs like they do with roaches this apartment will be over-run with both soon.

I have lived at 5 Louis for 15 years. I find it very family friendly and has a lot of hard working people in the building. It is run well, and kept clean. I find that apartments are kept clean if the tenant is clean and will appear dirty if the tenants choose to keep their unit that way. Overall, I recommend living here. After reading many many reviews about this building, my fiancé and I went to look at the apartment building despite the warnings. We had read that this building has an awful bedbug and cockroach problem, but that is not the only problem with this building. When we went, the super had welcomed us in ripped up cut off sweat shorts, very unprofessional, and the building, as we walked through, was dirty. When we finally got to the apartment to be rented, it...was...AWFUL. The floors, if not dirty, were ripped and damaged. The kitchen was atrocious; the cupboards, floors, counters, you name it was filthy. The bathroom was the worst, I don't even want to get into it. To top it all off, as we were viewing, a cockroach scurried across the floor plain as day. After we exited, I asked the super straight up (knowing full well there was),if there was a roach problem in the building as I had heard elsewhere that there was. She neither said yes or no to my question but rather, "it all depends on how you live"....I'll take that as a yes. I will never step foot into this building again. I also told my friends and family to avoid this building too as the super took no responsibility for the problems in the building. I tried to ignore most of what I read as I try to see the best in everything, but I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend not going to this building.

The Mount-Bel Apartments in St. Catharines at 5 Louis Avenue has a really bad cockroach and bed bug problem. They have been trying to get rid of them for over two years and they still have the problem. tenants are moving out because of the problem too. I would recamend everyone who is looking for an apartment, to not rent from that apartment building unless you like living with cockroaches and bed bugs. Cameron
