Their shawarma isn't bad but their prices are absolutely insane for the portion size. For the price I expect a much bigger meal than what I received.I recommend one of the other much better Shawarma places in the Lawrence-Vic Park/Warden area both for quality and quantity(however you will need to bring your own ranch dressing to those places)..
Formosa is probably the only restaurant I know where I can get ManchuWok style portions for less than $10 that is not in a mall food court. This is vital because whenever I crave cheap Chinese food without forking out more than $10, I loathe going to mall food courts. I've been going to Formosa ever since it opened at this location and although they raised their prices since then it's still pretty reasonable. I always get the 3 item on rice/noodles w/ soup and pop for $6. Some of my favourites include Jerk/ roasted chicken. The owner calls it Jerk, but it's not as spicy as real jerk but still very good and unique even. I also like the fried spicy chicken, ma po tofu and sweet and sour eggplant. Owners are very friendly. Dine-in area is very clean. Awesome place for affordable Chinese food cravings.
A pleasant surprise that actually offers some real home style Taiwanese dishes. The beef and mushroom dish was very tasty and we got to select what style of noodle that we wanted with the soup. Mild spicy turned out to be pretty spicy but still very good. Decor is pretty basic and clean. Service was pretty good. The only negative thing is that they serve chicken balls, but this is no doubt aimed at the non-Chinese visitors.
First off, what impressed me most was that the restaurant was spotless. I mean really spotless. I had take-out tonight, but I'll probably sit in next time. The food was really good. The quantity was about average, but filling enough. It was ready to go in under 3 minutes! And yes, I did hear and smell the wok cooking the kung pao. They did have a few pre-cooked dishes sitting in a glass case for combos and such. Their prices are very reasonable, with more combos than you could shake a stick at. The lady at the counter was polite and helpful. BTW, since the Cuisine tag on this page still says "Unclassified", I should point out that according to their menu, Formosa serves "Taiwanese & Szechuan Chinese Fast Food".
