After the Great War and during the Roaring 20's, a small retail hardware shop was opened in the town of Galt, Ontario, Canada, by J.H. Shellard Rutherford. Right from the beginning, innovation and foresight distinguished Rutherford from his competitors. Anticipating a need, J.H. was one of the first in the region to tap into the growing demand for electrical products by stocking a wide variety of electrical goods and supplies.In 1962, Jack Rutherford took the reins from his father, changing the direction of the company from retail hardware to architectural hardware distribution.
