One thing that most reviews on here have not mentioned about Port Perry Thai is that they have a great lunch menu!
There's something like 10 different choices, each with hot & sour soup and spring roll, for $7.95!
When I worked in Port Perry I used to go here at least once a week, the food is absolutely awesome.
The one complaint I would have is that they play classical music, which in itself isn't so bad, but they keep the volume at the lowest possible level!
Weird.
I visited Port Perry Thai recently for the first time and I was pleased with my experience. I liked the decor (modern and classy) and the menu offerings were extensive. I ordered the Crispy Fusion platter, to cater to my varied cravings. It had a little of this and a little of that. Yummy!
Best part: they flavour their water with lemon! Such a nice touch!
This new restaurant is EXCELLENT! We've eaten there many times since it's opened and having lived in Thailand for a while, and being great fans of Thai food, we can honestly say the food is the BEST Thai food we've had in Canada.
We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Thai!
We too were wondering if it was the same owner as the previous thai restaurant, and lo and behold it was new!
Ordered pad thai, and two cashew chickens with spring rolls and crispy wontons. Cashew chicken was light, and fresh. Not breaded and heavy like other places can be. Nice amount of spice, not too overbearing for my wimpy co-eaters.
Pad thai was a large portion, and quite nice. I don't think that they've succumbed to using ketchup like other places so often do.
Only thing we could think of that they needed to improve was to have faith in their abilities. The servers were a little nervous, not quite as confident as they should be. Their asian competition isn't very threatening here in Port!
