As you boat Lakes Muskoka, Rosseau & Joseph, at each turn you are viewing award winning architecture that represents the accomplishments of five generations of Ferguson builders. Many of these outstanding buildings & detailed restorations are featured in magazines & books about the Muskoka region & its most admired structures. The Ferguson history begins in the mid 1800's when pioneer & master carpenter "Edward" Ferguson emigrated from his Scottish artisan clan to open what is known as the Morinus area of Muskoka Lakes. One of Edward's proudest projects was working with his son, master carpenter "William" Ferguson & others to erect "St. John the Baptist Church" at Morinus Point over 110 years ago. A landmark for boaters, St John's is located close to where, more than 80 years later, Edward's grandson "Earl" established "Earl Ferguson Construction" & continued to build the Ferguson legacy of extraordinary custom construction for the next sixty years.
