Must try! Really happy with the atmosphere and food, prices are very fair. Very clean and we had a lot of fun. Will be returning - they do not take reservations, just a heads up if you plan on going during their peek times.
For a solid offering of Mexican food until 2:00 a.m., El Camino on Elgin is exactly what you need. As one of the few Mexican restaurants in the city, El Camino lets you tuck into everything from a crispy fish taco to an ox tail taco. The fast and friendly service is great, but be aware there is often a wait to find a seat. The dining area itself is well-decorated, small and open.
A new kid on the Elgin block, El Camino has received a warm welcome for its talk-of-the-town tacos. If spicy grilled albacore tuna, scallop ceviche and tequila cocktails make your tummy rumble, head to El Camino where you can chow down on authentic Mexican fare until 2 am.
El Camino is a popular spot for contemporary Mexican plates in the trendy Elgin Street district. If you’re looking for something slightly different from your nachos, but not all together unfamiliar, try El Camino’s Chilaquiles, a plate of nachos topped with pulled pork, a fried egg, Feta cheese and jalapeños.
