I visited the restaurant yesterday to celebrate my birthday. I've always liked the restaurant, however, on this occasion I was completely disappointed. The waitress was extremely surly and miserable and I had to constantly call her to replenish my drink, etc. I even asked her if I'd get a free birthday cake and her response was that I would have to pay for it. I doubt my husband and I would come again
Have been a regular for many years. But all good things must come to an end. Terribly disappointed in the blind switch of dressing in their famous Souvlaki dinners. Some cheap Caesar swapped for their famous Greek dressing. The chicken primavera is no longer creamy and delicious, substituted for some watered down greasy base. Peters on Eglinton will no longer be the number one on the list of goto restaurants for this family.
Great large portions, you will definitely be full after your meal and will have a good amount to take home with you. A little out of date in the interior as well with strange seating.
After several years, my wife and I made a reservation at Peter's on Eglinton. Upon arriving and stating that we had a reservation, no reference was made to a reservation list nor any reference to reserved seating. I asked for a booth and was told "no". We were seated literally in the aisle in the pathway of customers and staff. In a 10-minute period, I was "bumped" 4 times before even receiving my beverage. Others came in after us who were seated in a more private location. At that time, I told the server that we were not staying and left. Poor set-up, out-dated decor, no planning other than "get them in and get them out". We will never go back again!!!
Food portion is huge. We go there about every month for Lunch and we love it. I have the Turkey Club and I enjoy it all of the time.
The atmosphere wasn't that nice it looked like a family diner, i felt like i was at denny's. i was shocked to see a greek restaurant did not have half of what i am used to seeing at a traditional greek restaurant menu. it was very canadianized i was very discounted. the food was pretty terrible i only ate the pork, the rice i didnt eat. there didnt have enough, so they gave us cold french fries and the greek salad had casear dressing on it. needless to say i would give it a 2 or 2.5/5 and wouldnt visit again. it was almost as terrible as golden griddle.
I used to work in the area many years ago and we would always come here. The food is good and the portions are huge. I used to always eat the fettucini alfredo and I always had to get a doggie bag. I will take my neice here after work one day soon for dinner as she likes to eat a lot! I suspect she won't be hungry 2 hours after leaving here.
Good food, pretty big portions!
When we walked in the stainglass windows were neat to see. Thinking oh this is going to be great. We walked in and you smell disappointment right away. The smell is old chinese greasy restaurant. Except it's not a chinese restaurant at all. The decor is a time warp into the 1980's. It's overwhelming. We should have asked to see the menu before sitting down because the menu is just that too. We thought well we're here we're hungry. I was in the mood for breakfast my friend was told the montreal smoked meat was the best around. The Breakfast menu was nothing but eggs and more eggs. No pancakes or even french toast. Spanish Omelet with pototoe and toast was a hugh disapointment. Over priced . Toast offered.. white bread only..the potatoe was just that a boiled potatoe. Hash browns or home potatoes was what I was expecting. Greasy ,eggy omelet no cheese .. the tomatoe onion mushroom toping was taste less not fresh at all..definately not edible. A jar of salsa would have been better choice. We were not offered any beverages while waiting for our order water glasses were scratched and old. No lemon offered in the water.. The orange juice was warm. Had to scoop out the ice cubes in the water to put in the juice..It was a Sunday afternoon not busy . The Montreal smoked meat sandwich was good not the best...the only mustard offered was yellow mustard the ketchup was not Heinz in the Heinz bottle tasted like Allan's Ketchup if you know ketchup ...it's sweeter. .The sandwich was impossible to eat too much meat.. enough to make 4 sandwiches. The fries were half burnt and undercooked very greasy get this the coldslaw was warm-slaw. The best part my friend said was the pickle. We told the waiter about the uneaten omelet and the prices were too high for the food offered. He didn't even offer or take off the omelet off the bill. We had 4 different waiters /waitress wait on us. We had this male waiter reach over behind my friends shoulder to pour water in her glass any closer he would have had his face slapped. It startled her and kind of freaked me out..Like what the heck was this guy doing? We just wanted to get out of there. They were trying to make up for quantiy instead of quality. Not a place to go if we had another earthquake the gigantic stained glass ceiling fixture above us looked likespace ship from Tiffany's. This place is in need of 911 from Restaurant Make Over.
I came here 3 times. I am not impressed with the food for lunch and dinner. I ordered the hamburger the first time and the second time had the pork soulvaki. The pork soulvaki was very oily and did not taste good. The dish was big with lots of food, but the meat was not tender. My wife ordered the special with ribs, wings, and shrimp. The shrimps were the only part that tasted good. For breakfast they do a good job, but I am not impressed for lunch or dinner and would not come back. On the good side the wait staff are excelent.
Love the food - great value for HUGE plates of food. Gotta have the roast potato and the sandwiches! Go when you are very hungry.
I am very impressed with the food and service. The waiter even appologized for waiting too long for my order and gave me a complementary juice for the wait. I did not think the wait was long at all and was very surprised at the good service. Their portions are huge, but very tasty. Very good service.
Hands-down best chicken salad I have ever had the privilege to taste. I understand Peter's is a Mississauga institution and people make it an effort to come to this restaurant in full formal/business attire on weekends. I feel that this speaks volumes about it's food and service; more so than any 1 review can do. Eating that chicken salad sandwich was as close to eating Ambrosia as I was ever going to get. I can only imagine what their Smoked meat, or pastrami on Rye, or their famous Souvlaki would taste like.
i have been going here for years, it's amazing... the food is way to much to eat at this sitting, which always means.. doggie bag! Remember eat the salad it doesn't keep over night!
I have been a frequent customer for years.. Love this place.. Cornbeef sandwiches the size from my wrist to the tip of my finger, sluovaki HOLY!! always leave with a doggy bag (along with most of the people).. Never ever disappointed...It is fantastic.... However...there is one server there that I am surprised is still there.(that is why I removed one star..because of him).Has the personalty of a wall.. Never smiles...is absolutly ignorant...very abrupt and looks like he hates life and YOU.. (this is not just me speaking about him)I have had him serve me many times..and he is never different.. Its become a joke with my friends and I too see if we can crack a smile out of him..and we fail miserably) Other than that I LOVE this place and will always be back....again and again...
Peter'swhat can i say it's amazing the food and atmosphere are the best found anywhere the food portions are more than most can eat and the flavors are outstanding. And Peter is always there with a smile and a hand shake for everyone and that makes your visit to his popular resteraunt the place for a romantic and casual fun place to go. The staind glass interior is outstanding and fun to look at.
I've been going to Peter on Eglinton's since it was John Andersons many years ago. All I have to say is that the food and service is amazing. The portions are huge and we always end up taking home leftovers. It is definately one of the better restaurants of Peel.
I've been a few times now, huge portions for what you pay. The quality of the food is also quite good. Service is excellent and attentive.
Its absolutely Excellent !! The pork is always flavorful the potatoe always moist the salad is amazing and the rice is to die for! The portions are huge and there is always bread to start with. i go all the time and it tops many of the Greek restaurants I've been to.
Great place! Absolutely the best Greek salad I have ever had, massive size, good for sharing. The had a potato & leek soup which I can easily say is the best soup I have EVER had!! This is he only place I have gone to since trying the fish and chips as no other place could compare and it is worth a 15 min. drive. The fish is fresh, not fozen, dense and thick, not a plate of mushy fish covered in twice as much batter and their home-made tarter is phenomenal (ask for 2) as you will definitely be taking half home as it comes on a platter! I woud agree wih the comments about the frozen fries though. THIS PLACE IS A MUST GO!!!

This family-run Mississauga-based source for hearty homemade fare is so well known for its gargantuan servings that Peter’s ranks high in every on-line search for “big portions.” Here, diners feast on massive helpings of lasagna, souvlaki and calamari before unbuttoning the top of their trousers.
