Well my husband and I go out for dinner every month. Usually we go to dinner and a movie. The biggest advantage of coming to Eddies is that it is Halal, which makes us drive to Mississauga for food. We always try to order something new each time, but we ALWAYS need to get their Chicken Corn Soup. The soup is so amazing that my husband and I order a large bowl (usually made for 4-5 people) and eat it ourselves. It is a very nice setting and every time we have gone we have had to wait. It is our own fault, since we don’t make reservation. It is very important that you make reservations, since it is always busy even on a Tuesday night. They don’t have much space to have their customers’ wait, so either you wait outside (in the cold) or by the bathroom doors. About the service they provide. Once they have you seated they usually bring out the food very quickly. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Although they do not come around after they have served you your food to see if you need anything else, since they are usually busy with other customers and serving them. I think they might want to hire more staff just to see if the customers need more food or need a refill, or even just to ask if everything is OK! My husband and I have been going to Eddies for almost 3 years now and we never want to try any other restaurant because we always end up comparing the other restaurant to Eddies. Although they need work on customer service it still doesn’t stop us from coming back to the restaurant.
The first time I went here I was quite disappointed with my dinner. It lacked flavour and the parts that did have flavour were far too spicy. After waiting several months I ordered take out with my friend last week and was pleasantly surprised. This time the food had much more flavour and the spices were at just the right level so that they enhanced the flavours rather than obscure them. I will definitely go back from now on.
I had heard much about this restaurant, and went with friends to see for myself. Unfortunately, my experience was quite different to that of what was described by others. Although the food arrived fairly quickly, it was not what I was expecting. The spring rolls were dry and had little taste. I had also ordered Hakka chow mein, which the waitress had promised was comprised of thin noodles. What came was a plate stacked with thick noodles that had very little flavour, as there was no sauce of any kind. My friend had ordered a paneer dish which was far too spicy. Finally, to top everything off, I took a bite of my food to find my mouth on fire. There was obviously some kind of hidden pepper or seed in the dish, and I had to eat almost an entire bowl of rice to counteract the spice in my mouth, which filled me up in a bad way. Overall, my experience was not good, and could have been much better.
stopped there for dinner with my family we all love hakka food it was busy but our order was taken in a decent amount of time and in a while our manchurian soup arrived it was great flavour and the spicyness was just right we enjoyed it then our food arrived chili ck, ss manchurian beef ,spicy praawns and finished it all with the fried banana it was good meal we had definitely would recommend to friends and family
me and a bunch of my friends make a drive down to mississauga from waterloo which is about 30 to 40 minutes and the reason is because the food is just soo great. I find that at lunch the food doesnt come out as great at dinner when i guess the grill is on it's max. It's very busy in there but the service is not the greatest. they are lucky their food is really good, because the service could be improved on. I usually only deal with the one waitor, darol who is just great. the other waitors couldn't be bothered. One time we drove all the way down and apparnetly they dont take people int he dinninng after 9:30 and we said please we drove down from so far and they didn't care and the one indian server was really rude about it saying how he saw us runing from our cars and that we know it closes at 9:30 so we should know better. that is no way to speak to ur customers. I wish darol was there because he would have let us. anways we had to go eat somewehere else which really sucked.
Overall, I had a pretty good first experience at Eddie's. We were seated right away and given glasses of water. Always good and appreciated. I've eaten Hakka food before, but I'm not sure what all their terms mean "Manchurian", "Mongolian", "Szechuan", etc. All I can assume is that they're on the spicy side. Although extensive, the menu wasn't descriptive at all so it was difficult for me to make my choice. I wished there were pictures, brief ingredients listed 'cause we had to ask the waiter of the contents. After shortlisting, the waiter recommended the Manchurian Chow Mein with shrimp/chicken ($9.25). It was similar to a more savoury version of what you can find at a Chinese diner. I enjoyed the flavour, although the next day, the taste somehow dulled a bit. There were quite a few Indian clientele and the restaurant was quite packed for a Wednesday evening. This is always a good sign! If I was in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Perhaps trying something completely different.
After many recommendations from friends and family, we visited this place yesterday and though the food was great but the service disappointed us. The waiters took forever to take our order and return with the food. And to top it , I left my bag in the restaurant. I called them at 10:00 pm and I explained that how my wallet and keys to my house and car were in the bag and that if they could be there fir another 10 minutes as I was on my way back but the response startled me. The person on the phone replied that they all have to leave and if it would be okay with me that they left my bag outside the restaurant. After a while of explanations, pleases and what not I convinced him not to leave my bag outside and just be there for 5 more minutes as I was almost there but Noooo... When I did reach there, nobody was in sight. The restaurant was locked and my bag was no-where to be found. After spending the night at a friend's house, I returned there in the morning and got my bag. The waiters were hardly bothered about the ordeal I went through and just shrugged the matter off. I must say that the service was ABYSMAL. I am highly disappointed and if I ever go there again there's no tip for them!
We recently visited this restaurant on Saturday night, it was really busy, had to wait for about 20 minutes, but was worth it. We had the best chinese food ever, even my daugter who is a picky eater loved the food. I would definetly come back to bring more family/friends.
Just came to know about this restaurent through my aunt. No words can describe how impress I was with the food as well as the ambiance. We were there on Sunday Night and the restaurent was full.Had to wait abit . Food came out quickly. For a desi restaurent service was too good. Will definately go back.
We ordered for the food and it took 20 mins for the food to be served when we just have an hr for our lunch. That was not only the case the waiter served the wrong food to us and then took another 15 mins wait for the food to be on our table. When asked why the food was late there were no explanation from the waiter, we were simply being ignored. It was a total disappointment when we left the place. The food was ok but the service was a total disappointment. Dont think of my colleagues willl ever want to come back to this place. We have tried another "wok n roll"down the street which was very satisfying.
i love this place me and my wife come here atleast 6 times a month and we always get blown away by the great tasting food and quick service! a must go to. ive tried many hakka restaurants but this just takes the cake!
This is our second time at Eddie's. We drive in from Waterloo, battle the Friday traffic on the 401 just to eat here so it must be pretty good. Service was excellent, although they were very busy. Our server made the recommendations for all our food choices and they were all delicious. We would certianly eat here more frequently if we lived closer. We even recommended to the manager to open one up in KW!
I go to Eddies Wok N' Roll at least 5-6 times a month, I've been doing this fore more than a year. Every time I dine-in or take out I am amazed! The food and service is always superb, portions are huge. There's nothing I've tried which I did not enjoy. I have even catered from Eddies 4 different times, never was any of my guest disappointed and I've always been praised for suggesting this restaurant. This is the best Hakka food in Mississauga, and maybe even Canada. I would eat from Eddies every day if I could.
We went there for the first time. Oh Boy, it is so GOOD. The restaurent was full but they have so many waiters that we did'nt have to wait that long to get a table. Food came out so fast as if they know what we were having. Fish Pakoras is the best. Crispy Beef and the Lemon Chicken was very good. Hakka chew mean was ok. But overall, two thumbs up. Definately will go there and try more different dishes.Darel our Waiter was very helpful.
The place was too busy to enjoy the dinner. Too much confusion within staff. Heard their daughter opened a new Wok and Roll down the street from Eddie's which is very big. Anybody been there? Please send some review.
i loved the food at eddies only coz they sed it was halal.
Halal ???? Food is less authentic Hakka than nearby restaurants but it is ok. BBQ Mein - not so hot in both ways The staff seem stressed out and tired. So service is not as pleasant. Check for a more pleasant and customer caring alternative.
My coworkers and I frequent this place at least 3-4 times a month. The lunch specials are great all for under $10 you get lots of food; an entree comes with rice, choice of 2 soups, and a spring roll. The Hakka dishes are particularly good but some of the fusion asian dishes are not i.e. pad thai is too ketchupy. The service is not the greatest but the most of their wait staff try real hard. The place is always busy at lunch so go early or book a reservation.
Our family tried Eddie's after the establishment was recommended to us. That was over a year ago. We eat and take out regularily. We all love the food, the taste, the quantity and the service. So much so that we're serving Eddie's to a party of 17 coming to our home tomorrow. Love it! You've got to try it!
Excellent food. Excellent service and very good environment. Two Thumbs up !!!
