Small Portions -- High Quality

THIS WAS OUR FIRST VISIT BUT WE HEARD SO MANY GOOD THINGS WE HAD OUR HOPES HIGH. THE STAFF WAS SUPER FRIENDLY AND VERY ATTENTIVE. THE FRESH ROLLS WERE SUPER FRESH -- CRISP AND SERVED WITH 3 DIPPING SAUCES (AS A TREAT!) THE MANGO SALADS WAS FULL OF FLAVOUR BUT SMALL. THE SWEET AND SOUR STIRFRY WAS PERFECT BUT ONLY 6 SHRIMP?! THE YELLOW CURRY WAS A BEAUTIFUL BLEND OF FLAVOURS AND THE JASMINE RICE -- TO DIE FOR! THE SERVINGS WERE ALL SMALL IN COMPARISON TO NORMAL RESTAURANT FEASTS BUT VERY WELL PRESENTED AND COOKED TO ORDER! DESSERTS WERE YUMMY -- COCONUT ICE CREAM AND FRIED ICE CREAM WERE A DELIGHT. THE ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE PRICE CONSIDERING THE PORTIONS WERE NOT THAT LARGE -- THE QUALITY HOWEVER WAS WORTH IT!

This was our first visit to Thaifoon. We were greeted and seated immediately and given menus. There was only one other group of 4 there on a Wednesday evening. The waitress was very politie and asked us how everything was and refilled our drinks. The wait for our appetizers and food was not that bad. The food was VERY good but, I'll have to remember to exclude the fresh cilantro (tastes like soap) from the Pad Thai, next time. The portions were ok ( a bit small though). My only complaint is that the prices are a little high. Three appetizers, three main dishes, two sides of coconut riced and three iced teas came to $89

Fantastic Food & Service for all occassions

One of my favourite restaurants in the city. Whether out with my husband or lunch with a friend. Food is always great as is the service. The list of memu favourites is too long to mention.

Great Thai restaurant

Thaifoon is a great little restaurant. We've gone there many times and the food, atmosphere and service is very consistent. Our favourite plates are the pad thai and the salmon dish. The avo moon shyne are also delicious appetizers. Service is overall pretty good but not great; sometimes can be a little rushed on the weekends. I would recommend this place to my friends.

I have been to Thaifoon MANY times and will continue to visit this great downtown restaurant. I find the food and wine to be very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. We have also done the take-out before as well. The staff at the restaurant are knowledgeable and VERY friendly. I can't say enough good things about this place! My absolute fave appy is the chicken maki...a very different take on a traditional maki but delicious! The green curry is lovely as well as the spring rolls (fresh and fried). If you're in the mood for a martini, I've sampled many on their impressive list and they've all been great. Can't wait for my next visit!

The food was only okay, not great. It's a typical North American interpretation of Thai food. Not too far off, but definitely not authentic (which most people would appreciate, since it is not terribly spicy as true Thai food would be). The same family owns most of the Thai restaurants in London- this one is arguably the best. The decor is simple, the layout of the restaurant is too open, but the warm lighting is well done. Service is hit and miss- I've been a few times.

I have been to Thaifoon a number of times and will be going back next week. It is a great location if you are going to a show or concert at the JLC! I love the atmosphere at this restaurant and the service is good. The food is amazing! I have had the Thai Fresh Rolls, the dumplings and the Red and Green Curry Chicken. The curry is so delicious that I will find it hard to sway and pick something else. Definitely the best Red and Green Curry I have ever had. I always look forward to going to this restaurant. Note: The Castillo de Almansa wine from Spain is quite tasty!

The first time I went here I was generally unimpressed. I ordered pad thai, which was very mediocre, and quite expensive compared to other restaurants. I also tried the salmon with maki dish, which was very awkward to eat - the maki pieces were very large and were covered in curry, which was both odd and unappealing. I went a second time recently for a friend's birthday and ordered a beef and vegetable dish that was ok. Nothing special, just ok, and the vegetables were undercooked. The service is mediocre, as well as the atmosphere. It's not necessarily a bad restaurant, just very average and over-priced. I probably won't be back, seeing as I can get better thai food for far cheaper anyplace else.

Excellent all-around

I had heard many great things about Thaifoon, and was not at all disappointed. Although the service was a tad inattentive at times, it was friendly and one of our waiters recognized that our meal was taking a bit longer and let us know that it was on it's way. We enjoyed all of our meals, especially the peanut chicken. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be back

AMAZING! in overall experience

I have been back a few times and everytime I have enjoyed exceptional food served hot, great atmosphere and music and wonderful service, working and being trained in the culinary industry myself , and someone who pays attention to detail and critiques honestly, I am impressed!

Horrible Service!!!!!

If I could rate service at this establishment in the negative number then I would - the owner and the manager were both rude rude rude !!!!! Never will my freinds or myself ever return

Delicious Thai food & A Great Presentation

Having recently eaten Thai cuisine in Hamilton, which I very much enjoyed, I wanted to experience it in London. This place did not dissapoint at all. They had a wonderful mix of sleek, contemporary Minimalist decor with traditional art pieces. It was very calm and relaxing, very much to my expectations of Thai culture, very Zen-like. In addition to the overall look of the establishment, the dining ware was very contemporary and much attention was put into detail. Water Glasses had ornately wrapped napkins, very impressive. Even the covering was very nice, I sat at a table with Thai elephants on the covering, again it made me feel immersed in Thai Culture. Overall, the look of the establishment was excellent, whoever designed it is a very smart person. I saw business people, and students (like myself) there. I had two people serving me, my original waitress was extremely nice and helped me decide on my meal, I was very close to ordering Green Curry, which sounds very tasty, but (for me) a bit too spicy. Thus I stuck with the Pad Thai, but all-in-all, she thoroughly knew the menu and was prompt with my meal and bringing me water. The other waiter was also very nice, both, in fact socialized with me for a few moments and expressed their thanks for my compliments. They made me feel very welcome. The Food was delicious. I had high expectations for my Pad Thai, and I was not dissapointed whatsoever. My Waitress even brought out a very spicy sauce for me to add to my meal, which was great and tasty, albeit, quite spicy, but that is Thai for you. Presentation was excellent and the meal itself is quite filling and very, very tasty. I also enjoyed the fresh rolls, I received two with my Pad Thai (which was a great surprise) and ordered two additional fresh rolls. They were cool and very tasty and looked very healthy for you. I also ordered a Singha Beer, which is a Thai beer, and I suggest that if you have beer with Thai, do drink Singha, I believe it brought out more of the flavours of my Pad Thai and was refreshing against the spicy sauce provided on the side. They of course brought me water, and came back often to refill the glass and they were happy to do so. Lastly, I ordered a house tea, which was apparently a tea enjoyed in Thailand. Though I did not drink all of it, it was very tasty without any cream, milk or sugar and was great to experience, although, it was very hot and I didn't have enough time before I had to leave to enjoy it all, however, that was my fault. OVERALL: Exceptional service and delicious food, I would readily recommend Thaifoon for a great Thai experience.

A taste sensation

I told our server that I would right a review on line as I was so impressed with our dining experience. I can honestly say that every bite of my dinner was a taste sensation. The setting was beautiful. The young man who served us was so pleasant. I asked about a wine on the menu and when we were still deciding he brought me a small tasting glass of the wine we had discussed to try. The wait staff was very attentive.

I had never eaten thai food before but my boyfriend had many times. We finally made it down to Thaifoon this evening. The reservations were easy to make, we only called about an hour ahead and were still able to get reservations at 6pm so that was great. Was not too fond of sitting right by the door however, with the creative design of the front door "waiting room" it was really no bother because of the glass door seperating us from the street. We started out with the mango salad and springrolls, both were absolutly incredible!, it was also suggested for drinks the thai iced tea (YUM!!!) for our main course we had chicken pad thai and the cashew chicken with jasmine rice. I have never tasted food so good in my entire life. Everybite tasted different and it truly was an eating experiance. The portions were just right, we were full but not "sick full", the prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is incredible. The staff were all very friendly, the restaurant was very clean and the food was served hot and fresh. I was a thai-food virgin but am now a huge fan - we will DEFINATALY be back very soon as "Thaifoon" is now one of our favorite restaurants.

One of the best restaurants in London. The food is amazing, but the problem is I crave it for days afterwards! The service is accomodating, fast, and knowledgable. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I recommend it to everyone.

Thaifood is simply the best Thai food in London...

Thaifood is simply the best Thai food in London. It is always freshly made. I cannot believe the comments from people who think it is microwaved. It isn't! The service is exceptional. If you want a longer time between courses, just ask. The ambiance of the restaurant inviting. Thank you, Eddie, for participating in "A Taste for Life" to raise needed money for the AIDS Committee of London.

I've been to Thaifoon on two separate occasions...

I've been to Thaifoon on two separate occasions and was not impressed either time. I have had a lot of Thai food and love it, so I was looking for a good place when I moved to London. I have yet to find a single place to serve authentic pad thai.The chicken satay is ok, although the chicken pieces are too big. The pad thai is not authentic at all.
