The idea for Artisano Bakery Café was thought up by brothers Michael and Joe Simeone and their friend Kathy Stoodley. The entrepreneurial trio wanted to translate their love of home-style baking and fresh food into an exciting new restaurant concept – a friendly neighbourhood café where people were treated like guests, not customers. A place where the food was healthy and fresh, not fast and fried. Artisano is most popular as a lunch spot and from what I gather is a favorite among the locals. You line up and order and then can take out or sit down in the cafe. Lots of tables but it can get crowded, but the atmosphere isnt why you go here. The food is very good and the staff and excellent. They are very efficient and give you a vibrating pad so when your order is ready, you know and can pick it up. I have been 4 times now and tried sandwiches and salads and all very good. Excellent coffee and tea selection. I dont think its licensed.

This place is great! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is fresh and exciting! I always try something new and I'm always happy with my meal. It's nice too, they have pre-made boxed lunches now, so if I'm in a rush, I stop in to pick up my day's lunch and maybe a loaf of bread for supper. My ONLY negative is that I've had hit & miss service from the cash...sometimes you'll get someone who's right with it, friendly, open to ask any questions, etc. and then the odd time you'll get the typical slow, unreceptive cash gal/guy...but that's it! Overall, I love it!
