Had an amazing meal with my boyfriend at Duncan's last week! Normally don't have overly noteworthy service, but the young gentleman serving us that day was quick, entertaining and extremely sweet. We'll definitely be back in hopes of having him as our server again!! We come there for lunch often because the food is of the best in Collingwood! Definitely a gem if you're looking for great soups and sandwiches.
Whenever I'm in Collingwood, I eat at Duncan's. I have to say that the food there is great. From the soups (butternut squash & mulligatawny) to the veggie rolls, jerk chicken mango salad, sandwiches and wraps, I have yet to have a meal that I didn't enjoy. I look forward to my next visit to Duncan's so I can try something new. I have found the servers to be friendly and efficient and make you feel very welcome. I love the decor and I feel right at home. Their prices are very reasonable and there's something there for everyone. I would recommend a visit to Duncan's to see for yourself.
My husband and I live in the UK and were on holiday in Canada. We spent a few days in Collingwood and came across Duncans during dinner time. We were incredibly impressed with the presentation, freshness and creativity of our meals. We each had a soup as a starter and it was obvious that they were home made. My husband is normally quite critical when we are out and I was surprised when he didn't have a negative comment. He said that his tenderloin was cooked perfectly. The service was fantastic and so was the atmosphere. Beautifully decorated and impressive art displayed. Our server was great and suggested wine that would go well with our meals and custom coffees after. We loved it so much that we popped in for lunch the next day and had an equally positive experience. It was fantastic to find a restaurant of such high calibre! We will be recommending Duncans. Best dining experience during our trip!!
I was on a 3 week vacation to Canada from USA and have multiple food allergies and chemical sensitivities so was having difficulty finding safe places to eat. Went to Duncan's and found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and willing to help me. The waitresses assisted me in selecting foods that could be custom-prepared with olive oil and no seasonings and the chef made sure that my food was safely prepared and creatively displayed on my plate as bland foods can often appear less appetizing and boring. Due to their attention to detail and friendliness in sitting and talking with me in the evening when it was not very busy, I ate most of meals there for the entire 3 weeks.
We waited 40 minutes only to find that our order that been lost. We asked where the food was and we told it was coming. It didn't. We left. Never again.
The server was indifferent to us. She did the job, but with no friendliness. I ordered a turkey burger. It was dry and overcooked. The bun was stale. Probably the final straw was that there was a pickle on my burger. When I picked it off, the bottom side was covered in coleslaw (which was not part of my meal.....where did that pickle come from?). Normally I like this restaurant, but it seems to be sliding backwards
This great little cafe is easy to miss as it has a fairly non-descript facade - but don't miss it when in Collingwood. We ate here twice during our weeklong visit to the area and had food from both the breakfast and lunch menus. The food was all fresh and delicious while still being reasonably priced. The atmosphere is open and airy with lots of interesting original art hung on the walls.
This is the busiest spot in town for lunches. Their lunch menu is excellent with soups, salads, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, etc available. We also really like their dinner menu. Duncan's serves delicious food at great prices. I highly recommend it!
My wife and I visit Duncan's regularly for quick, casual dinners. The menu satisfies the needs of both genders with lots of variety. I am a big fan of the Steak Sandwich (there are never any of the nasty bits in this sandwich), and my wife enjoys their soups and salads. Staff always make us feel comfortable. Good stuff.
This is probably one of my favourite overall restaurants in Collingwood. Their food is great, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service can be a bit slow but that is because they make everything fresh. I guess if you want something good, you have to wait. It is worth the wait.
We stopped in on a Friday night and found they had live music. The singer was really great. We also enjoyed the food and the service very much.
This seems to be the go-to place for lunch. It's always busy but the food and service are always good.
The food took forever The vegetarian dish was microwaved The vegetables were lacking, parsnips undercooked, purple cabbage, horse carrots with raw green onion on top blah! The brown rice was not brown The potato was microwaved as well way too hot when everything else was warm. Although it has a cosy atmoshphere, I am all about the food.
Food, service...couldn't be better. A great start to the day!
We enjoyed a very delicious lunch. The server was very good.
The food was boring and took forever. The first server was neglectful. The second server dropped milk all over my lap and didn't apologize. Server 1 messed up my order and server 2 said that 'there was nothing they could do' and 'remaking it would take too long'. The hostess was snaking away at the coffee bar while making a customer's smoothie! The staff looked grubby, and were clearly disgruntled. Disgusting, horrible, and blah! What a waste of a morning.
The soup was excellent. My husband and Aunt had the potato leek and stilton cheese soup which they thought was excellent as well.
The place was bustling, it was after 2pm, so I expected to miss the lunch crowd. None the less, the service was great, smiles all around. The pasta was fantastic, the caesar salad was fairly generic. I noticed they quite a few homemade soups, can't wait to return to try them all.
The Mulligatawny soup I have ever eaten. I also recommend the Warm Portobello Salad. Very friendly service.
We went on a Friday nite. We were pleasantly surpised at the live acoustic one man band playing. Its a great atmoshere in the evening. The thai pork rolls and homemade soups are to die for. We also had the ny strip and the seafood ling pasta the were perfect cant wait to go back!!!!!!
