Lorraine attended College Boreal and graduated from the Paralegal Program in 2005, and immediately upon graduation, started working as a Paralegal for a small firm in Northern Ontario. In 2006 was hired by the Town of Cochrane to act as the Municipal Prosecutor for Provincial Offences in the northern communities of Hornepayne, Hearst, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls and Cochrane. In 2008 Lorraine was licensed with the Law Society of Upper Canada per new Provincial regulations and continued in that role until 2009. In January 2010 she made the transition to Northern Defender, representing defendants who had been charged with any provincial offence, but mostly focusing on those charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
