Went out tonight for our wedding anniversary and we thoroughly loved our evening. Our meal was cooked to perfection (strip loin cooked to our request of medium-well) and the quantity was just right. I am not a fan of mashed potatoes but whatever they did to these, I loved. Desserts were just the right amount as well.
This was by far the tastiest meal I've had in a very long time. The trout and shrimp combo was amazingly delicious. The dill and stir-fry mix gave a very tasty kick to the entree. The meal was a $20 special which came with the entree I just described, a starter caesar salad, and a pecan tort, which also was amazing. Service was great too, very friendly and informative in how I should try outdoor soccer instead of indoor because it might help with my bad knees.
I have been here about 5 times in the last 6 months; I was initially hooked on the braised wild boar and gnocchi. However, since our second visit, the food has been inconsistent and the service has been lacking. Once we waited at the door for about 5 minutes to be seated with the servers in one corner chatting.... this seems to be a common practise in many restaurants now a days, pity.... I will try Paradiso one more time since the good experiences are great. I would also suggest reserving the bigger booths in the back and not the ones in front of the kitchen. 2 more quick things, I ordered crab cakes, my wife ordered salad and we ordered soup to share (we made this known to the waitress as well), so instead of bringing it out in the correct order where we could eat together, she brought out the soup and crab cakes, my poor wife was left to eat her salad by herself 15 mins later.... also our waitress did not refill our wine glasses.... pretty common knowledge I had thought.
Great Food, Great Service and Good atmosphere, as Charlie Sheen would say, "Winner, Winner! Chicken Dinner!" In this case, the Moroccan Chicken was the winner! The Good: Wow where to start? The service was impeccable with knowledge, attentiveness and well mannered. The food was incredible with the Gnocchi very fresh and beat salad was very unique with a nice combination of sweetness and sourness. If beets tasted that good when I was growing up I'd eat them all the time. The Moroccan Chicken Supreme did live up to its name. Absolutely Superb! The Bad: The copper tables are a nice touch but they get all scratched up and the table we ate at had green trimmings from the copper oxidizing. The Ugly: All the dishes were fantastic with the Veal Chops tasting very VERY funny. If you've read my reviews I rarely send things back, this one I had to send back because of this rotten smell coming from both veal chops (Daily special Menu). Even though my entree was a bust, the service more than made up from it. The veal chops was a very poor representation of the high quality tasty food that Paradiso is used to producing. Highly Recommended!
Thank you to the staff who made our wedding reception a blast. Last year we had a small family only wedding party after our return trip from Sandals, and decided to have it here after reading the reviews here. We had the back room to ourselves and the waitstaff was amazing. The drinks were made to perfection. The wine was always topped off. Even the picky 'chicken only' eaters of the family were happy. Everything arrived quickly and was perfect, warm and lovely. The pricing for events is extremely fair and they will do whatever they can to make it stress free. You can tell the people who work there have a real passion for what they do. There were even musicians wandering the restaurant that night...the perfect mood music for sure. Thank you for such a wonderful night, I still tell people "You need to visit Paradiso!" PS - Try the bread!
Annual ladies xmas get together. We tried to make reservations at Earls in the Mapleview mall, but they do not take reso's for weekends (??) so someone recommended Paradiso. I had never been to the Burlington location, been to Oakville for lunch once and I remember the food to be good. So we made the reservation for Saturday night, the place was packed...several large groups there dining. A private function in the back. Our server was very attentive. The food came out HOT, which for the amount of patrons in there is amazing. I will definately be back here, wonderful food, great service, and takes reservations (with a credit card to hold it) on weekends. Everyone in our party LOVED their food, we each tried a piece of each others entree..mmmmmm. Although it was loud in the restaurant due to the sheer number of tables booked. The atmosphere was cozy, everyone was very happy with this place.
I had some colleagues from Europe and I didnt want to go to the most expensive places in Burlington so I decided to go to PARADISO that I consider the best price/quality/Atmosphere ratio place in Burlington. I like the interior decorating that gives a very nice atmosphere. I don't remember what we have chosen but the food is very good and no bad surprise ever. (I have been with my wife in this restaurant many times) For me it is a very safe choice !
My partner and her friend had lunch and the waiter SAT DOWN AT THE TABLE TO INTRODUCE HIMSELF!!!! His manager would have sent him home if I were there. He constantly interrupted their lunch and forgot to bring the salad.
Food and service was wonderful! And a great selection of yummy martinis! We had the 12 hour braised boar served over gnocchi. The boar was amazing and the sauce was to die for! The gnocchi was so light and tender it practically melted in my mouth. It was one of the best meals I've enjoyed in a long time. I asked the server if I could have the recipe and was not expecting to get it however, she was kind enough to ask the manager to print us copies. I will definitely return.
I loved the menu! We went for lunch, so I cant wait to go back for dinner sometime! Our meals were excellent - great taste and great presentation! The bread they gave us to start was a little too good...I had to stop myself from filling up on that before my meal. Excellent wine selection as well! The service was great! Our server was helpful and accommodating! Atmosphere was beautiful - lots of artwork, beautiful lighting - and i loved the copper table tops! I am truly looking forward to going back (i wish i lived closer)!
My wife and I went on date night to Paradiso last weekend. We were greeted by two friendly hostess who promptly brought us to our seats. Our server was fantastic. He not only checked to make sure our food was great shortly after we received it, he always made sure the he topped up our glasses of wine before we did ourselves. By far the best service I've had in a while! The food tasted great although it could have had a bit better presentation, However the restaurant was packed and there was hardly any wait for the food so I think I'd definitely prefer less presentation and less waiting time then the other way around. We will be back soon and next time we'll bring our friends.
Girls's night out for dinner and we couldn't have chosen a better place! We were seated in a great booth that was round-excellent for chatting- and pleasantly greeted by our server. Her recommendation of the Wente Cab was great-a lovely wine. We all opted for the "Taste of Burlington" menu which was absolutely fantastic. We all shared bites of the appetizers: calamari, arugula salad with pears and a baked brie. My entree of Morrocan Chicken was outstanding..great flavours and very moist. Well done! We lingered over coffee and dessert and enjoyed every minute of it. Will return for sure.
My husband and I, along with another couple had dinner at Paradiso this evening and it was really good. We had a great time, food, atmosphere, and service were all really good. I don't think I'd go so far as to say that this restaurant is 'fine dining' but it certainly blows away many of the restuarants in Burlington and deserves a better than average review. I personally got to sample the bruschetta which was excellent, as well as the grilled calamari which pleased the rest of my guests but wasn't my favourite dish. The pear and arugula salad was excellent and a generous portion which ended up being shared by the table. I had the scallops with risotto which were very good (a bit of a small portion with only 3 scallops for $24) and I got to sample the steak which was really good...the side dish with the steak was awesome. Dessert was the creme brulle trio and was perfect. My only complaint would be to turn down the volume a little. It was a tad too loud for us to chat, and our group wasn't an old group!
Paradiso made our special occasion outstanding! An impromptu celebratory dinner for two became a fantastic feast. Multiple delicious courses and exquisite wine. The server was friendly and helpful, offering to alter some dishes to accomodate my vegetarianism. They were attentive but not demanding and didn't hover over us while we took our time eating and relaxing. The restaurant was quite busy for 9pm on a thursday night - always a good sign. the server was helpful in calling us a taxi at the end of the night. I have been for lunch a few times and i have attended the Oakville location. A great restaurant overall!
Great service - our waitress relocated us away from a noisy family. She was also helpful in recommending the featured wine - what a good idea to try something new! The food was excellent and well presented. Pleasant live entertainment with two guitarists.
ONE OF MY FAVORITES I have been there twice and I found each time a good food, good service and a very good atmosphere. It is a place where you can go with your wife, it is intimate enough for a private discussion. For a reasonnable price you can get a very good dinner.
Excellent Food, Excellent Service, Excellent Atmosphere. One of my favorite places to go for lunch or dinner.
We had our wedding at Paradiso in April 08 (40 guests) and we could not have asked for a better place to have it at! We had never been to Paradiso but once we walked in the door and met with the manager we knew this was the place we were looking for. The staff were just out of this world and did everything to make our day a memorable one. Food was excellent and for a party of that size we were able to place individual orders for steaks/salmon and they were all done perfectly. Our guests were in awe of the type, variety, quality and presentation of food served that night. We will go there again and so will our guests. Great atmosphere, amazing staff and wonderful food! Could not ask for more!
It was a most pleasing experience. The service was excellent. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and the server made the meal special by bringing out a special dessert for the birthday girl. The meals were pleasing to the eye, as well as delicious and perfectly cooked. A great choice on the menu of appetizers, entrees and deserts. A good selection of wines in a wide price range. Excellent value for the money. Decor is very nice and it's a relaxing atmosphere. Although the diners next to us were rather loud and boisterous. I would recommend it and I would go there again.
We found this restaurant searching the internet for something new. It has a very relazing atmosphere and is definately a "hip" layout. Both soups were excellant. Our waiter got the wine order wrong but was quick to realize it an apologize. Main courses were both excellantly presented and very tasty. The dessert was an amazing 3-selection creme brule platter. Overall, the menu is very creative and the food appears to be of good quality. Going there tonight for a birthday celebration and am expecting more of the same.
