I have a passion for creativity and sharing my knowledge of crochet. I have a love of teaching others how to tap into their creativity and I am eager to share this with others. I offer an evening class and a daytime class for a course that currently runs for 4 weeks in small intimate sessions of up to 6 students. I also offer and advanced beginner course for those who are looking to learn more. I would be willing to teach workshops, attend Brownie and Girl Guide units to help with textile or creative badges, attend retreats and schools.
As years have passed, we have less time for creative outlets and less time to be tought such endeavours by our elders. My goal is to ignite a spark in a younger generation to carry on creative traditions and provide an outlet for creative needs. I learned to crochet during a trying time in my life. I found crocheting helped my concentration and patience. Completing projects increased my self esteem, reduced anxiety and gave me confidence. It is my hope to work with schools and family centres to teach crochet to teens who suffer from anxiety, anger or mild behavioural issues with the goal of giving them a creative outlet to focus on.
Crocheting has come along way in recent years. No longer are we limited to afghans of years past. Hats, toys, household and baby items are just a few of the many different types of projects to make.
I am located in Brampton, ON and currently teach out of my home. This allows for a comfortable, stress free environment. I have had students from Caledon, Shelbourne, Orangeville, Mississauga, Oakville, Milton and Toronto!
I am looking forward to teaching you my love of crochet!
