One of best restaurants in Bowmanville and Durham. Great quality food. Have enjoyed several meals here.
This is our favourite restaurant in the GTA. Their service is superb and the food is second to none. We always feel welcome there and have been for lunch, dinner and special events. The new location on Division St is very well done and decorated nicely. I love the menu, the romaine salad is to die for and so is the goats cheese tart. We never feel rushed at this restaurant! Their wine tasting dinner a few years ago was decadent!
Its quiet and quaint with consistenly excellent food.
Chef Derek makes it his personal goal to make sure that you have a fantastic dining experience. Every time I have been to Chanterelle I have had an exeptional meal and a personal visit to my table from Chef Derek. This is something you don't often experience in fine dining restaurants today. It really enhances the culinary experience to have the chef explain how the meal was prepared and why. Can't say enough good things about Chanterelle...Go to Chanterelle for your next date night
Excellent, excellent, excellent....We were in the room at the rear of the restaurant, for a surprise birthday party. The atmosphere here was excellent. The lighting was perfect. It was quiet and private. i would highly recommend it for an adult birthday celebration or other special occasion. The kiddies might become bored as this is fine dining and not 'fast food' . You'd be well advised to leave them with a sitter. The staff was very attentive, and the food was excellent. Everything is made fresh with local ingredients. Special diets are not a problem if you give them some notice. Celiac friendly meals are available. (gluten/wheat intolerance) The front section of the restaurant is at street level and features a large picture window. This section of the restaurant is less appealing to me, as I feel like I'm are on display to passers-by. However, YOU may not mind at all. I agree with everything the review, John M. says about this restaurant so I won't repeat it here.
This restaurant is worth finding. It's address is 73 King St. _West_, which is near the end of the main street. At 73 King St. _East_ you'll find another restaurant (Thai), and you''ll be in the wrong place. Chanterelle is the kind of good local bistro you can find in some neighborhoods of Toronto, and every neighborhood of Paris. The food is well prepared, with an emphasis on seafood and fresh vegetables. Food prices are very reasonable, and there is an extensive list of wines under $30. The desserts are good, and the service is excellent. I would rank this in the top five restaurants within 30 minutes of Oshawa, and we've eaten in most of them. I urge you to give it a try, because it deserves to be better known.
My husband and I eat there about 6 times a year. Every time we are there the food and the service are consistently awesome!! My only one gripe would be to change up the menu a bit more.
