Shoddy work, they made a mess doing the chimney repair, and it all fell apart a year later. No reply from V&W to numerous attempts to contact them.

Chimney repair excellent. Clean up not completed but not a big problem.Some discussion over the initial price & final price. Work was well done though & I would recommend company to others.
Hired to install a woodstove in November and give proper certification, inspection on the chimney and all paper work for home insurance purposes, some chimney repairs as well. Chimney work was excellent. Wood stove was installed with some small issues but worked properly at first. We did not receive any inspection or certification paper for our insurance contacted many times with no result! Now we must hire another to inspect this work! Broken promises and very disappointing.
Excellent service, very professional. Called for a cleaning and thankfully we did because our chimney was falling apart and we were unaware of it. Malcolm explained everything we needed done and most likely would have been very expensive to fix if we chose another company. He gave us a great price and finished the job the same day. My chimney was falling apart. V & W quoted me a price, arrived do do the job right away, did more work then was expected and stayed within an affordable price range. I am more than satisfied with this company and will definitely use them again for my annual chimney cleaning.
Malcolm came and ended up having to spending the day and evening getting the furnace and the chimney cleared out. And it was so clogged with bricks that they were backing up into the basement filling the basement with smoke and exhaust. He stayed and worked on the furnace and chimney until it was running safely and clear up the larger flume. He really puts his heart into his work and has fair and reasonable prices, I would recommend this company for making sure your chimney is clean and safe.
Called them..made app....I HAD TO make areangements to have them.come..so said he would call if late or if unable to come..waited an hour called him. .he said he might come or he might have to reschedule ....after me already making arrangements and him.not having the decency to respect people's time. .
these guys are fast efficient and good at what they do they are reasonably priced and fair
We contacted V&W for a complete chimney cleaning. They provided a free inspection and estimate of the work needed to be done on our chimney. Within a few days all work was completed, and our chimney is now ready to go for the winter. Thanks V&W for the friendly service, and knowledgeable information. Great work!
Fast, friendly service. Called one day and the job was done the next. I actually thought the job would be a lot worse so I felt that I was not "hosed"!
LIFE SAVERS High winds blew the top off my chimney. I called V and W Masonary to repair it. They did a great job at a reasonable price. They cleaned the chimney and when he cleaned the pipe his hand went through it. I had another company in four months earlier to clean and inspect the furnace but they didnt remove the pipe and when this compsny did it was blocked and everyone in the house were so lucky that carbon monoxide didn't kill anyone. They went to town and bought new stove pipe and replaced it all. When they were on the roof repairing the chimney
I had a clogged chimney, cracked cement top, the chimney bricks needed repointing and I needed my wood stove connected. The liner I had put in four years ago was a write-off as I hadn't had it cleaned and the creosote wouldn't budge, as much as they tried. They said there had been a fire in the liner and it WAS a job to remove it and put in a new, flexible liner with a lifetime guarantee. They did a good job installing the new liner, repointing the chimney bricks, adding a new chimney cap and cement top and connecting my wood stove and made sure that it drew well by making a small fire in the stove. My dog nipped at the leg of one of the workmen, but luckily only grazed his leg, and there was no trouble there with that. The only slight problem was the cost. I am a middle-aged woman living alone. They had initially quoted me a price of $1,000 to do the job and then quickly recalculated the cost up to $1,800. I didn't quibble at the time, but I probably should have counter-offered at $1,400, which still would have been high, but more in line with the actual work completed. Also, they required half of the payment IN CASH up front and the rest IN CASH after the job was completed. Otherwise, they did a good job and stated that they would back up their work and to call them directly if I had any problem. They are also putting me on their yearly clean-out list, which will save me a lot of hassle in future!
We had one chimney sweep (not V&W) come by and look at our liner's blockage, after two hours they couldn't get through it and even tried to sell me 3 feet of new chimney. I called V&W a few weeks later, they had the blockage out in less than an hour, chimney swept, recapped (new cement ring) and existing bricks re-mortared by 1pm; I had my fire going that evening. They cleaned up when done, and obviously care about and take pride in what they do.
