The intrusion was minimal, they cleaned up their mess, it was exactly as ordered...the stain color matched our floors exactly!

My wife and I are so happy with the stairs we got from Duart that I just had to write a review. I came across this gem on Main Street in Dartmouth as I was driving by one day. Upon dropping in, I was amazed to see that they manufacture all of the stair components right there on site, and in talking with the office manager, it made me realize, these people really know what they are doing. I was so excited, I brought my wife over the next day and we met and talked to the owner, Lee for quite a while. I loved the fact that he took his time with us and we didn't feel pressured in any way. He told us he would come to our house and do a quote for free! Well, we live way out on the Ketch Harbour Road, so I was even more thrilled about that.
Sure enough, the following Saturday the owner and his wife came to our house and measured for the stairs. Monday morning, we had a quote in our email from the Office Manager, Margaret. The quote included everything from the cost of product, the staining and the installation all on one quote, with everything broken down so you could see it.
We made a date for the installation and that's why I'm writing this review. I can't say enough about Duart's service, their beautiful product and their people. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, and I was so impressed with the installer, Donnie, who came to the house - he was a definite professional.
I would highly recommend Duart Hardwood Stairs to anyone who is thinking of renovating or building...they know what they're doing, and the work is absolutely beautiful.
I had my stairs done by Duart Hardwood in October and I have so many compliments on my new stairs. I am very pleased with the workmanship and the complete job right from the start to the finish. I would recommend Duart to anyone who would like to have stairs done in their house.
Less than a year ago we had Duart install our steps. The work they performed was fantastic and we received multiple compliments on the work that was performed. The problem we are having at this point is that we have had issues since the initial work and we can't get anyone to come to our place and address/repair the problems. It appears that once they have your money you are on your own which I find to be incredibly irresponsible. I expect not only professionalism initially but I expect a reputable company to stand behind their work which has not happened in our case.
As of August, 2010, Duart Hardwood has new owners and if anyone has any problems we address them immediately. As new owners, we stand by the motto "Complete Customer Satisfaction".
