As an 18 year old, Chris Hotchkiss began delivering mattresses while attending Saint ' University in Halifax. Before long he was promoted to sales and his passion for the home furnishing industry was born.
In 2010, with the help of family and friends, Chris opened the first Hotchkiss Home Furnishings store on Prospect Street in Fredericton. Since then Chris life and business have grown considerably. He and his wife Elise added two beautiful children, Max and Evie and the business has added two new stores, Grand Falls, NB and Dartmouth, NS.

Do not recommend this store at all. Furniture took forever to get ordered and delivered to our house, arrived damaged, and did not set up bed correctly. Had nothing but disappointment from this business. When I asked to be compensated, they ignored my request and dodged me everything.
Had chairs delivered in February 2019. After having seen the delivery team slide them off the single runner they laid down and severely scratch the new hardwood floors in over 10 places, they tried to claim that the scratches were already there to my face.
I then contacted Hotchkiss customer support and recieved very little assistance. They were incapable of following up. Now 8 months later, the manager said they will give me 200$ to make it go away. Repairs will cost over 700$
I bought a mattress there and the box spring broke within a couple of months. They replaced it but the manager treated me like I must have done something to break it although it was wood and craved when it arrived. Now after ordering a couch which they said would be up to 3 weeks, it will be more like a month until delivery. The staff were friendly that sold the couch but that's their job to be.
I had left a previous review of hotchkiss home furishings about an issue I had had and it has bee resolved in the best possible way!
The owner of the store contacted me personally and resolved my issue right away.
They went the extra mile for my customer satisfaction when they didn't have to and I appreciate it a lot.
One big mattress Nightmare!
I made the mistake of buying a mattress from Hotchkiss Home Furnishings in Fredericton. The first mattress we bought came dead on arrival. They were nice and warrantied it for us. We spent more money on a latex mattress which broke in less than 1 year. They warrantied the latex mattress and we decided to get a king size mattress so again we spent more money just to have a place to sleep. We finally got our king mattress after we thoroughly tried the floor model mattresses, the box springs didn't match one was brown and the other is black and it feels nothing like the bed we tried and liked in store. I called and they told me to give it a week which I did. It still is a terrible mattress. I called again and the only option they gave me was to buy another mattress.
The reason we bought a mattress from Hotchkiss is that they are a local business and they had a comfort guarantee. They will not honor their comfort guarantee. So please take you business else where before you waste thousands of dollars at this store!!
