Royal Oak Burial Park opened in 1923. Founded by the City of Victoria and the District of Saanich, the Burial Park is the largest municipal cemetery in BC. A Board of Trustees, appointed by the founding municipalities, operates the Burial Park as a not for profit corporation. The Burial Park is fully self-funded from the fees it charges for its goods and services and receives no taxpayer subsidies for any operations. Situated in the Broadmead area of Saanich/Greater Victoria the Burial Park's 135 acres are nestled in a setting of gently rolling hills and sweeping vistas. Manicured internment areas combine with natural woodlands to create a truly 'west coast' setting where families can create personal, permanent remembrances for their deceased.more...See more text
