Green is the new black and it's not just a passing fad. Fast fashion is literally losing steam — shrinking, if you will. It's being replenished with eco-friendly designers whose slow fashion brands are making their way into Vancouverite's wardrobes more than ever before — thanks to women like Sarah Stewart.
Sarah, founder/owner of Gastown's ARC Apparel, opened her bricks-and-mortar shop stocked with 20 integrity brands in February 2018, an extension of her successful 2017 e-commerce site. The boutique is part of the solution to support positive change in the fashion industry, which is the second greatest polluter worldwide after oil.
Championing responsibly sourced fashion, Sarah is helping empower women to change the conversation and make the conscious shift towards a different culture. "In order for change to really happen, people need to alter their mindset into consuming less, buying better quality and learning about what they are purchasing," she says.
