As early as 1942, a few far-sighted owners recognized the need for an organization whose main purpose would be to improve general conditions in the bowling industry and founded the Vancouver Bowling Alley Operators' Association. In 1954, a B.C. Bowling Alley Operators' Association was formed and, in 1959, was to become the present Bowling Proprietors' Association of B.C.
