Nestled amongst a bank and restaurants in a quiet strip mall, Lahari Yoga in North Delta could be easily overlooked. But once inside, a sense of calmness envelops you and the outside world becomes a distant memory. The studio’s environment can be credited to local owner, Kim Sheridan. The decor is comprised of pieces that Kim has curated for the studio over the years, along with gifts from her students. A Buddha sits on a shelf near the class sign-in sheet, a gift from a student who had a major personal transformation thanks to the classes at Lahari Yoga.
Yoga wasn’t Kim’s original career choice. Previously with the Delta Police Department for eight years, Kim transformed her life when she left police work behind and turned to yoga instead. Inspired by childhood memories of practicing yoga with her mother, Kim set herself on a path to create a life of peace and balance, which for her includes teaching yoga and helping others to achieve their own personal transformation.
