Dawn Pritchard tells stories through pictures and mementos, packaging them up in scrapbooks. “I’m just a creative person and I needed an outlet,” she says. Dawn opened The Inked Stamper in June 2011 and provided herself with a productive way to feed her creative instincts. She's been scrapbooking since 2004 and having her own store gives her the freedom to order and use the supplies she wanted. “I have the regular, traditional stuff, but I also have a great selection of stamps, inks, sprays, paints,” says Dawn. “I have the staples, but when new lines are available, I change stocks – basically every three months.”
Dawn is all about variety, and her customers are always eager to come in to see the latest scrapbooking products. The Inked Stamper also offers classes, taught by various designers from the greater community. “The classes are a good mix. We believe your style should be your own, so we teach people that what they create is just perfect, and not to recreate other people’s work.” Dawn herself teaches a class in mixed media. “I teach people layouts and they leave an absolute mess with all that paint and spray,” she laughs. “But I always say it’s a happy class when people leave with their hands a little dirty.”
